I have a Harvard PhD in Blink-182, and the Strat with a Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier wins over the ES-333 with Vox AC30/Fender Twin. I'll tell you why. The quintessential Blink-182 guitar sound on Enema of the State and TOYPAJ is thick, multitracked, and midrangey with a slight scoop. They are only a 3-piece, so Blink use (or rather producer Jerry Finn used) Tom's guitars to fill out a lot of frequencies to thicken their sound (as well as a few other tricks like Mark Hoppus playing chords and also additional keyboard parts... but that's a topic for another time). On the Self-Titled album, Tom started layering more diverse guitar sounds together and used the ES-333 with different amps - which still works if you're layering 4+ tracks of guitars to get a nice, thick sound, but using the same setup live sounds horribly thin. An analogy would be playing an orchestral piece with one violin, rather than an entire string section. The Strat and Dual Rectifier combination however is a much more "wall-of-sound" approach that better approximates Blink's recorded guitar sound in a live setting. It also has the added benefit of masking Tom's relatively sloppy playing. If you're reading this Tom, I am available to be your personal guitar tech and consultant.

The MIM Tom Delonge strat I've owned for quite a long time is a really nice guitar. I have it setup as normal hardtail strat, but it feels and plays better then most American stratocasters I own.

Blink has always been for me the seafoam green/daphne blue strat since I discovered them. I've never really connected with the 333. Looks weird. A guitar made for an old jazzman, playing super sophisticated scales, rather then for a guy playing 3 chords and yelling about farting on your mum. However, soundwise, they both sound great, especially through the dual rec. Hard to say which one sounds better, maybe it depends on the era of blink that people prefer.

depend on individual preference. while for me i think thru 333 tom has create his own sound for the self titled album. It give this great sound on Down riff and also it give I Miss You its own unique tone and sound. Cant imagine the sound from I Miss You & Down if Tom using his strat.

Strat sounds better Clean. Gibson/Epi sounds better dirty imo. Looks. Split even. The color of the strat...that seafoam green is extremely underrated and iconic. The color on the Gibson/Epi Meh. The overall look I give to the Gibson/Epi. I own the Epiphone but consider seafoam green one of my favorite colors. So my love is split haha
