He’s a best example how even with unparalleled wealth, fame and success he was able to not let it change his character….. Which is the character of a young man from a troubled home, parental abuse neglect and abandonment, living poor and having to work at a young age while constantly moving around from place to place. To me he’s one of the best examples of a human being there is, in terms of their potential and their ability to overcome their backgrounds and not let it affect their personality. To achieve greater and greater heights as an actor (no pun intended) always pushing himself further despite his age. If I needed to pick a actor to be stranded with the the jungle or mountains, I’d pick Tom Cruise hands down. The sheer number of vehicles he can drive, number of martial arts he’s learned, Rock climbing, and a propensity for safety since in 30+ years of action movies he’s suffered one injury. I don’t believe in any religion but if it turned out that one was right and it was Scientology, that would explain a lot about cruise’s ubermench characteristics. I may not believe it, of course I don’t believe it. Maybe it’s coincidence or the placebo effect, but Tom is mildly superhuman, maybe the next stage in human evolution. If any religion actually makes a man more like TC Or allows them to be the TC version of themselves then it’s got more going for it than some of the other religions than we have going around. For far from perfect the Scientologists are, and they are bad. They pale next to the crimes or despicable opinions held of the major religions. People looking to start a political fight picking on Scientology are like the bully in the class who picks the kid who he thinks/knows, won’t fight back. Nuclear weapons ensure there will never be any more large scale wars, so nuclear weapons means well either have A) no more wars or b) one final war.

Something I just noticed: in the clip of the fans who performed the chroma stunt, Cruise went out of his way to shake that person's hand as they returned to their seat. (He couldn't do it for the third, but you could see him walking in her direction.) Kind of a cool instinct on his part. He just gets that this was a cool moment for those fans, and makes an effort to make it even more memorable.

He’s 61 now and I feel like he is aging like fine wine~ and the thing he does to make sure that this series holds its charm is amazing. No one can play Ethan Hunt other than Tom Cruise, and I genuinely mean that.

this is SO ENTERTAINING!! and he has my utmost respect for being a true professional movie maker (breaking a leg and finishing the shot)
This guy brings more intensity to the screen than perhaps anyone (with the possible exception of Newman on Seinfeld :D) Just watched "A Few Good Men" last night for the umpteenth time, and the scene where Cruise is drunk after finding out his witness committed suicide and goes off on Demi Moore - unbelievable acting. Like him or not, he brings 100% every single time and is entirely committed to the craft.

He is actually a much better serious actor than most people give him credit for. I'll be on this hill all day, thank you very much.
It’s amazing that he trained for underwater breathing and it could have easily been avoided. It’s the internal wins too. The satisfaction of a great performer is to know that it’s not only for show but needs to be real, and heartfelt and sincere
MI:DR1 is phenomenal. Say what you will about Tom Cruise but he is impressive. It’s rare for a long-running franchise to improve or maintain the same level of quality with each sequel: Transformers, Fast, even Star Wars. But Mission Impossible has only gotten better each movie (excluding MI2). It’s actually astounding.
