    My daughter and I flew (from Oklahoma) to Boston in Oct 2016 to watch Brady's first home game after his suspension (perfect weather game at Gillette against the thug Bengals (since transformed)). The applause for Brady's homecoming entry was heartstopping. One of the best memories of our lives, seeing in person the greatest QB ever, in what turned out to be his 5th Super Bowl season. How SWEET it was. And yes, that receiving corps was as clutch as any in history.

    @@nolanmartin1570 I am a German and I admit to being a Vikings fan but watching this gave me great pleasure. Apart from that I have hardly ever seen any player in any sports this clutch over his career. To me it seems that it should have been clear to the ones behind the scandal that it would only fuel on Brady to unseen heights. Being a 6th round pick, this to me seems to have fueled him all his career to become as consistent and superior as he had become before the suspension and deflategate. Then threatening to disgrace him and take all that he had achieved away from him would clearly just bring him to new heights. Without the scandal the Patriots probably wouldn't have come back the way they did from a breathtaking 28-3. Without him being drafted so late he also might have never become the true leader with the heart of a lion with the ultimate will to succeed and prove everyone wrong that he became. I truly believe he was innocent. Only one who is innocent does refuse to have the penalty reduced for admitting guilt and surely refuses to sell out team mates for his innocence. It clearly shows the people behind deflate gate new they were full of shit from the beginning and tried to blackmail him into submission. After all that PLUS that comeback probably no super bowl ever has been more deserved. I bow my head in respect. What a boss.

    True, I mean he is giving ideal gas eq, here more suitable would be real gas eq, it takes into consideration interaction between molecules inside the gas, energy so the ball wouldnt go from 12.5 to 11.3 but gonna go little less than 11.5 on a small scale ideal gas eq is good. I think he used something that was hot, in the media something young students relate to rather than defend Tom Brady. Anyway he is still right it wouldnt take more than half an hour for stationary ball to deflate.

    @Samuel Diaz Thanks for your OBJECTIVITY. In all my years watching sports, I have never, ever seen a bigger "nothingburger" (i.e. "Deflategate") turn into THE biggest witch hunt in pro sports history...and it's not even close. This BS was NATIONAL news, around-the-clock, and because it got a bunch of rabid anti-Pats fans into a frenzy to want to see Brady fall, it somehow gave the "scandal" credence?! Then all the so-called "professional" pundits and ex-players/coaches who piled on, even suggesting that the Pats' ballboy taking a piss for 45 seconds somehow translated into the guy "deflating" all the footballs?? LOL Give me a break. The fact that NFL attorneys admitted IN COURT that they didn't have any direct evidence was a MAJOR red flag. Then watching Brady play at an MVP level and win 3 more Superbowls AFTER "Deflategate" was/is just icing on the cake. Ultimately, it all showed that karma can be a bitch, as a petty, vindictive asshole (Goodell) had to not only hand over the Lombardi trophy, but also the SB MVP trophy to Brady. Like I said, EASILY the biggest sham of a "scandal" in pro sports history.

    The average career of a QB is 4.44 [which Brady contributed to by dint of having a 2 decade career]. A regular season is now 17 games. If anyone wants to beat Brady's record the soonest they could beat his record is in 14.7 years! That's 14.7 years of nothing but wins. Mahomes could theoretically do it, if he wins every games for the next 11 years. Kind of a tall order if you ask me. I don't think we're going to see the likes of Brady again in our life time.

    @@bentleydonovan4608 You're right that Tom Brady lived like he wanted the career of a star athlete doing all the things that would allow him to perform at that level for that length of time. What's also important, tell me I'm wrong, is that he didn't insist on the most money he could make. He left the team enough money to get the players it needed. I seem to remember an amount of $60 million that Brady did not make in lieu of having the kind of people on the team that would help them win games. That's not something you do when it's only about the money. When you see the movie about how he was finally drafted, it looks like they got him as an afterthought. He was expected not to run into the Gatorade tank more than twice per season. What they did was draft a general who knows how to drive the team forward. If Mahomes does win every game between now and then he'll be 40 to beat Brady. And that's with winning EVERY game, not even Brady did that more than once. By that time Andy Reid is 76. I want Mahomes to be his own legend, I'd be seriously amazed if he matched that record.

Remembering what once was, sadly it will never be the same again. 27-3, Brady with only half of the 3rd and the 4th qtr to go, an injury-riddled team and being pressured almost every snap. He comes back. The greatest qb sneaker doesn't go for the 1st down and hands it off to Fournette for the TD and ties the game. Leaves time on the clock. The rest is history. His magnum opus almost re-enacted falls short, sad that we'll never see something like this again.

    I will never forget that season! This video is a master piece, a true documentary of true will and courage and hard work. I remember this day because I have never been more sad but also I lost my voice after the 3rd quarter of excitement after coming back from 28-1. As a Patriots fan I would like to share something deep if I may. My Grandma Carmen 👵🏻 who passed away in 2018, 2 days after Christmas, before our Patriots won their 6th Super Bowl, she got to watch this championship and let me tell you, she was super happy and amazed. She fell in love with football after I taught it to her as we would watch it together and next thing you know, her favorite player was Gronk. Before she passed away and was in the hospital, I had bought myself a Gronk stitched home jersey to complete my jersey collection of 6: 3 from Tom Brady and 3 from Gronk, the night we went to go visit her at the hospital, I brought my jersey to her and gifted it to her. She couldn’t believe it, she kept telling me thank you over and over again and she held it close to her, and I told her in Spanish, “it’s yours and it’s going to give you strength like Gronk but you have to keep it close to you okay Grandma.” She ended up leaving the hospital the next day, recovered and as I mentioned, she did pass away 2 days after Christmas when we all got together and was able to see the family United. I was afraid of wearing her jersey because it would make me sad thinking of her not being with us anymore but I got the courage and remembered what I told her, so the night of Super Bowl 53, I wore the jersey I gave her and it gave me the strength to root for my team and who made the biggest play that night? Gronk! When he caught that pass, I knew from the bottom of my heart, she would have loved it! If she would of seen how Tom Brady and Gronk played in this past Super bowl and Tampa she would admire them more, I know she’s watching and is happy of our guys! I don’t think I have a moral of my sorry or a lesson but I can truly tell you guys that we love our team and our guys, all our players, because without them, we wouldn’t have a fan based or feel passionate about the game. And sometimes by just wearing their jersey makes you feel part of them and it gives you strength and courage to get through a tough time or beat all odds against you, kind of like having loved ones, they strengthen us, them believing in us, pushes us to be our best. I hope I didn’t bored you guys, thank you for reading my story, may God Bless you all! And one last thing... Let’s gooooo! 😎🇺🇸💪🏻

    Here is a man who has done everything right to be the best player he could be. He’s made his mistakes, he’s got the right mindset, he is a consummate professional and has the results to prove it. To suggest that after all these years playing the game and being an elite player among the elite players, this is the guy who would have to tamper with the football? I don’t even understand what the physical advantage would be to deflate the ball. Someone who’s been throwing that ball for his entire career, what possible use would it be for him to alter the properties of the ball so that it now behaves in a way that’s not familiar? And of course, it’s Tom Brady doing the deflating himself. Just think about that image: Tom Brady tampering with a football, letting the air out. It’s amateur night, folks! The 4 time SuperBowl winner is going to give himself an extra little something of an advantage.

But it put a huge smile on my face when all of them got proven wrong and the Patriots went and won it all in historic Super Bowl 51. The best part of it all is that my friend is a Falcons fan and he FaceTimed me at halftime. He was talking mad shit once again like him and my other friends were doing at the beginning of the season when Brady was suspended. Then the Patriots went on and erased a 25 point deficit and won the Super Bowl. I loved watching Roger Goodell hand Tom Brady the Lombardi Trophy that night, absolute payback. The Giants defense played the best games of their lives. Eli did too. But Eli didn't kick Brady's ass. Have you heard Eli talk about his plays? He literally agreed that what he accomplished is the luckiest play in NFL history. If Eli threw 5 TD's and outscored/performed Brady in all faucet's of their game, then yeah. But considering The Giants defense PLAYED SENSATIONALLY, Asante Samuel, The NFL's leading interception all-pro corner dropping the game-winning interception Eli threw at his chest, Wes Welker dropping the game-clinching first down in 2 Superbowls, Eli completing what even he considers the luckiest play of all-time to David Tyree and an INSANE catch by Mario Manningham, you can't say Eli kicked his ass. Why don't you tell me that the team he won 6 super bowl rings with decides they don't want him any more, they kick him to the curb so he goes to the team with the worst franchise record , at age 43 he leads that team to the playoff , retires an all time great in Drew Bree's , beats the MVP of the league, Plays the prodigal goat Mahomes and the greatest show offs on earth and not only beats them but kicks there ass..... What are you going to tell me next he leads that team to back to back super bowls and wins an 8th?

    Brady makes his own motivation. Giving him additional reasons to completely flatten the competition is a dangerous thing indeed. The NFL as a whole tried to shut him down. Instead, he railed against everyone who tried to oppose him and crushed every man's spirit. And then you realize the cast he has with him. A bunch of nobodies who others thought wouldn't make it. That is a scary situation when he can crush you no matter who's with him. Oh, and you know what makes this all the sweeter for revenge? Completely turning around a lost game. The biggest slap in the face to the NFL. 25 points in 23 minutes. The defense shutting down an offense that looked like they could run all over the place. Then the nightmare came true... for everyone else.

    I'm a Patriots fan, but I find it hard to believe the Federal appeals court is crooked. If you look at the verdict, what it says is basically, "Tom Brady is part of an organization that has collectively bargained away his right to appeal suspensions to anyone but the commissioner of the NFL." They didn't rule that Brady cheated; they ruled that the contract says Goodell is allowed by law to do what he did. This is more about the weakness of US labor law, and not at all about the merits of the suspension. Specifically it says, "Our role is not to determine for ourselves whether Brady participated in a scheme to deflate footballs or whether the suspension imposed by the Commissioner should have been for three games or five games or none at all. Nor is it our role to second guess the arbitrator's [i.e. Goodell's] procedural rulings. Our obligation is limited to determining whether the arbitration proceedings and award met the minimum legal standards..." Source: www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2016/04/25/read-full-ruling-that-reinstated-tom-brady-four-game-deflategate-suspension/7iSmI8l2lbY0o883r3jOxI/story.html

    Brady and the NFLPA took his suspension to district court and the judge found several holes in the Wells report and overthrew the suspension. Roger Goddell went to appeals court and said he should still be allowed to suspend Brady since the Wells report found "more than probable" evidence which was enough under the CBA. The appeals court judge agreed.

  • @burke615

    @burke615

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@clipcoug1139 The appeals court took no position on the merits of the suspension. None. Read the decision. On page 12, it specifically states, "Our review of an arbitration award is, accordingly, 'very limited.' [citing the case of] Garvey, 532 U.S. at 509. We are therefore not authorized to review the arbitrator's decision on the merits despite allegations that the decision rests on factual errors or misinterprets the parties' agreement, but only as to whether the arbitrator acted within the scope of his authority as defined by the collective bargaining agreement." Indeed, the only place the appeals court's opinion uses language about probability is in the "Background" section, where it is simply quoting (not agreeing with) the Wells Report. I haven't read the district court's opinion, since it isn't operative once overturned on appeal, but according to the discussion in the opinion of the appeals court, the vacatur of the arbitration decision was founded in the fundamental (un)fairness of the process, not on the fact of whether or not there was a scheme to deflate footballs. TL;DR: The courts didn't take a position on whether there was a scheme to deflate footballs, or whether Brady was involved in such a scheme. They only decided whether the CBA was followed, as that's all they have the authority to decide.
