He's right about the nostalgia. I only had ever seen the Doctor Who series, "Robot", in early-'75 and then I put Doctor Who off to the side for the next forty-six years(!). I knew of course the changing of the Doctors over the decades and I heard too of Tom Baker. I found BritBox and subsequently went back to where I'd first encountered Doctor Who and Tom Baker. Reality seemed to waver a little, like the heat-distorted horizon, as I watched the "Robot" episodes. I'd gotten old and Tom Baker was young again. I remembered various sequences of the presentation like I'd watched them just last week; especially the scenes that were filmed/recorded outdoors. I've gotten to see "Ark in Space" and I'm taking my time in really appreciating the ambiance of the episodes which are nearly five decades old. How wonderful to be able to say that we live in the time of Tom Baker.

So interesting and insightful. This man is so full of interesting anecdotes!
Even though he was the best Doctor Who and I was and am a huge fan I think that's ironically probably the least interesting thing about him. He's a wonderful and fascinating man and I soak up his every word with great appreciation.

Tom Baker is SOMETHING GREAT.
He could read the small print of anything and I would be enraptured and laughing my head off. God. The man IS God
Tom Baker will always be the iconic Dr. Who of my time.

Tom is flipping hilarious! I can imagine Dame Edna exactly saying the first part, being worshipped. Ahaha 😊

stomach hurts from laughing. some quite moving bits too though. great interview.
What a great character. Thoroughly enjoyed this.
Apart from Doctor Who, I remeber him best as the villan in a Sinbad movie, wildly over the top.
He almost made me cry at the end...
My nick name was Uncle Fester at one point in my drinking days. To hear Tom Baker say his /my name has made my day!
Tom's Doctor Who was my hero growing up. Thank you, Mr Baker, for all the joy and wonder you brought to my childhood.

He’s always been my favourite doctor but what a interesting mind he has and the life he has led is very interesting that it could easily be turned into a biography movie.
He is such an interesting man. Maybe he really is a renegade Time Lord?
A true gentleman
he has stayed young at heart
The guy's a legend :)
If I saw Tom Baker I would faint.
Laurie Taylor may look like Skeletor but he is a great interviewer.
I'm french so i can't understand all, but his words are hypnotic
It was really interesting to hear an honest view of aging and being a senior. Never heard someone speak that way. I never had grandparents so I'm not familiar with the horrors. This makes me want to be more involved with helping the abandoned people in society. It also makes me scared that I will one day be in that situation. Being in an old folks place neglected. Or having to rely on someone like that.

im with tom baker on this one i have somewhat a similar real story like this but different
I was never able accept any other Dr who. I oddly enough began watching when Tom Baker became him. I adored his version of Dr Who, his randomness, his humor. I was involved in Dungeons and Dragons, we all went crazy over this Dr Who. His quips, his sarcasm, yet his caring for humans. To know this was just Tom Baker being hi.self, well I guess we just adored Tom Baker. And I still do.I stopped watching after he was replaced. Still don't like the other Dr who's.
He's a randy old buggar.
