this version of the tower of terror is just great. Japan made a real good substitute since they didn't want to pay for the twilight zone ride. I want to ride it so bad. when I am an adult and able to go anywhere... I would go to Tokyo to go to the parks.

+thinkabout entertainment one thing that comes to mind is that you can't really understand what they are saying in rides. my mom says they had some sort of English translator that is program to translate the rides. I'm not sure If it's true though

It's not that they didn't want to pay, Twilight Zone just isn't know in Japan. No one would have understood the theme.

I wish Disney would go back to making original rides as well as ones that are themed around their properties. Tower of Terror is great mainly because it was something original. Yes, it took from the Twilight Zone inspiration, but it is its own entity. This version of ToT just proves how great originality can be. I wish we could get more of it.

"Twilight Zone" works as inspiration because every episode is a unique story. There are no story archs or characters to remember throughout the series. So you could make the argument that the ride is another episode of the show - in fact the "Rod Sterling" host calls it an episode that we're in.

I really want to thank you for this video. I'm an American who spent my childhood in Japan. My family lived right next to Disneyland and DisneySea and it is a tremendous part of my childhood. I only had the courage to go on this ride when I was 9 - a couple weeks before moving back to the US. I watched online videos of it all the time but was always too scared to ride it until I knew we were going to move away. I've only rode it twice, but it is by far my favorite ride there. As time has passed, I haven't had the time to continue learning Japanese and unfortunately I've forgotten most of the language. The subtitles really allow me to relive an amazing part of my childhood. Thank you. Thank you so much.

The amount of detail placed in this version of ToT is unparalleled with any other version. The one in California wasn't nearly as good as the one in Florida, and before I rode this one, I felt like the one in Florida was the best version. But this one is packed with so much detail, it is just amazing and matches the rest of the park. I think this one is now my new favorite, even if the drops themselves are not as much as the American version. The theming for this one was just simply incredible.

This ride's story is great! You don't have to understand Japanese to understand the story which is great for a ride. I feel like the tower of terror in Walt Disney World could just reboot the story away from the Twilight zone and freshin up a bit and we'll have one just as good as Disney sea.

This version at least is original. If you have to replace the original ride theme with something else, at LEAST make it original. And make it scary. This version does both… I know that DCA is getting the Marvel Land. I know that there are two incarnations of the "Twilight Zone" version and that the WDW version is better. I also know that Walt wanted his park (and by extension parks) to change. But it will be sad for me to go back to California Adventure whenever I can afford it again and not be able to go on one of my favorite rides based on one of my favorite tv shows.

Hello! I know... what I'm asking is almost impossible. This is where we'll see if the 6 degrees of separation theory is true ;) I'm looking for an extraordinary girl I met at Disneysea Park in Tokyo on July 17, 2023. While waiting in line for the attraction called "Tower of terror", we chatted for several minutes and it was more than charming. One of the two elevators stopped working momentarily, so we had several precious minutes more than normal to chat and show each other pictures of our lives. The very sad thing was that just as we were about to exchange names and contact details, we got separated by the organizers and she had to enter the attraction through one door and I through another. At the exit there were hundreds of people. I waited and searched for this rare pearl, but to no avail. So I'm asking the community to please help me. Please note that I'm a French Canadian who doesn't speak Japanese. We exchanged in English. Here's what I know. This girl spoke very good English. She's Japanese. She must be between 25 and 30. She's about 1.65 meters tall. She's from Nagano and her parents still live there. They have a Shiba dog. I don't know if she still lives there or if she's in Tokyo. Woe is me, it's the most densely populated city on the planet 🤦🏻‍♂️. She likes snowboarding over there in Nagano. She has a younger brother who went to Whistler in Canada a few years ago to play field hockey. That day at Disneysea on July 17, she was with a friend about the same age as her. That's all I know. That's all I know. As my English isn't perfect, we couldn't go much further in our discussions, but there was that magic we all dream of. I'd love to continue our discussion. I hope this attempt at a reunion doesn't make me sound too crazy 🤪

The big thing with the other Towers is their licensing with CBS. Tokyo went without the Twilight Zone tie in from the very beginning, so there's not really an incentive to close or retheme it like they're doing in the US.

AdrenalineAddict610 they don't HAVE to retheme it they aren't rethemeimg the one in WDW it's just that the DCA one was going down the toilet

I know they didn't have to, but there's more incentive to modify the other Towers with the licensing as opposed to the one that doesn't.

Rebranding it into a Guardians of the Galaxy ride. It was a decent movie, and a slightly better comic series, but a GotG ride in DCA is going to RUIN the flow of the area; the HTH incarnation of Tower of Terror works with the "ZOMFG HOLLYWOOD" theme that leads towards the ride whereas "wow, is that a giant space thing?" doesn't quite as much. Also, I'll be the guy, fuck Guardians of the Galaxy in this instance. I like the franchise, I like the movie and am super looking forward to the sequel, but it's NOT FREAKING DISNEY OR CALIFORNIA so it has no right being in DCA. I mean, Star Wars Land is already bugging me a bit but we can't fight "progress", y'know?

Something tells me Richard had to learn Japanese in advance prior to Tower of Terror's development in order to voice Shiriki. 🤔 What if Richard were invited to voice an animatronic in Disneyland Paris? It'd require him to learn French in advance…unless he already took French classes when he was younger. We'll see.

Picture if you will, Henry Hightower, a man obsessed with collecting artifacts no matter the cost. Not for worship, not for artistic value ,but the sake of collecting in of itself. Keeping even the most sacred of treasures locked away in a private box, never to see the light of day. A man who prides himself not in preserving history for curious generations ,not to protect the cultures of old from an ever changing world, but for his own fleeting amusement, only to be forgotten amongst the cold breaches of his private office. Slowly and surely isolating himself from the world and family. Friend and foe alike. Shielding himself from outside thought or criticism. Locked quietly away in: The Twilight Zone.

Good job on the translations, but just a nitpick, the Japanese you translated was super literal, like why didn’t you follow my attention, Japanese has a lot of underlying things in their words.

Lucky to have experienced this last year with my cousin! One of my cousin and I were arguing that this just a lame ride based on what I watched on YT. Me: It's just a train ride that will tour you around the mansion. It's not that scary. Hahaha! Him: No thats not what you thought! It an elevator not a train! I literally cried when I had it in the US. 😭 Me: we'll see... Hahaha 😜 Moments later we entered an Elevator! Me: fck! Damn you're right! 😭😂😂😂

This should be in Hollywood Studios, the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is really outdated by now. If a version in the USA gets made, it's most likely to have different queue but will still have the same preshow. I feel like that if an English version does get released, it will possibly be successful.
