Toilet won't flush dropped something in and it got stuck. How to fix or replace your toilet
Having several kids, I have done this at least once every year from someone either testing what can make it or dropping something in as the water is going down. Often no one says anything until it needs attention if you know what I mean.
The first time that I ran into this problem I thought to call a plumber who quoted me $100 which changed my mind to try doing it myself. The only cost is time and most likely the cost of a wax ring. (The style I use in this video is reusable and the only style that I use anymore) KZread wasn't really established then but would've been nice to boost my confidence in what I needed to do. I recorded this and hopefully someone finds it helpful.
The wax ring should always be replaced unless it is a reusable style like the one in the video. It is also much cleaner for the next time the toilet needs to come off for another traffic jam or even a full replacement.

By far the best video I’ve seen all day not a lot of distraction talk and idle chatter I used a coat hanger and cleaned out the syphon and shoved the other end of it into the bowl and guess what it worked!!! Nothing worse than a toilet that won’t flush properly or at all. Thankfully I didn’t need to take the toilet off this time. But your method seems like the easiest I’ve seen in 2 days of video after video Grrrr thanks alot for your video man new sub here for sure
You, my friend, are stronger than Spartacus. My cistern alone is a backbreaker so I must disassemble from bowl. The bowl will be 4x heavier than cistern. I have never done much DIY plumbing let alone this risk level. After my 'woke up to crisis' condition this morning and did plenty to resolve, my next steps are the high quality plunger and a durable auger. BUT I am inclined to believe that I will be following DORS route - and not at all with excitement. I suspect something fell into the bowl, got flushed and ha ha 'can't clear customs' ha ha!! THANKS DORS!

Thank You So Very Much!!! There is a plastic spoon stuck down in our toilet, of our NEW home... so brand new toilet of course... ugh... from dumping a bowl of leftover cereal, and it was flushed before it was realized. Now everyone is still having to run in and out of the 1 bathroom, which sucks, because that was one of the awesome things about getting a home with 2 bathrooms lol. This is going to hopefully save us a lot of money. I was scared to even call a plumber for fear of hearing the cost!?! Will try in the next couple of days to see if this works!?!

Thank you so much. This worked and it was way easier than I thought. My husband lifted the thing because it was insanely heavy. Was able to retrieve something really important

I just dropped my toilet paper holder and flushed. Yep, it blocking. I see this guy's frustration. MY suggestion. Go to an Auto Glass shop and buy a roll of 3/8 or 1/2 thick round. Buytle is a tar-like substance that is pliable.. You have to see the blockage. I ran the buytle like an omega at the end of an old old swifter broom. Now the trick is to get the buytle HOT using a hairdryer. I will get really sticky. Insert the sick to the object and if you can hit it you might get lucky and pull it right out..Yea this job sucks, but there is no other way. I wonder why they don't make a snake as rotor rooter uses in a small length slip down like the snake, with cutting blades. Chop the hell out of it. Done in 10 minutes or less...lol

Thats a tuff one. My kids did that once and I managed to free it up with the plunger. You also might be able to hook it with a plumbing snake
