now its a real toilet story
i was intending to play this as a legit run, but pfa crashed after loading it again for 2 days on my laptop, so i tried pfaviz on it which also kept crashing, so it seems that since the recent win11 update pfa based apps crash when using pagefile, so i just decided to use kiva

How to optomize black midi performance on new systems (Ryzen 1000 & intel 8th gen+, 12th gen+ reccomended) If you have a new system, like an i5-1235U you cannot install Windows 7, the ideal OS for Black MIDI. On it you can load 1.5M more notes per 4GB RAM. The idea here is to take out the SSD, plug it into a system with win7 drivers and install the OS. Then, take back the SSD and put it into the original system.
