In Uganda we use the word latrine a lot to refer to outhouse toilets. They are common in low-income homes and Public schools. We call them pit latrines.

The word "latrine" is very common in Africa, especially rural Africa, where the 'washroom' is a structure with a pit hole. Usually toilet functions are done into the pit and no water is involved.

In Japanese sometime/where/one use "お手洗い" or "洗面所" which literally means washing hands or washing face room so It's similar to washroom. W.C is also used in old cafes and restaurants. The most commonly used word is "トイレ" which is "toilet"'s Japanese-English. p.s."手" = hand "面" = face "洗い/洗" = washing "所" = place

I'm not a native English speaker but yes here in UK we use toilet or loo as common expressions I think or understand the lavatory is the sink, I remember to see WC particularly in countries where English was not the mother language and always wonder what WC means?? 😂 finally I understand letrine as a Latinism which means a very old toilet used in the farms and it was like a hole in the ground...

In Turkey, we call tuvalet (toilet) or WC. And of course we have a lot of words that define the toilets such as; hela, lavabo, rahatlama yeri, abdesthane, ayakyolu, kenef and yüz numara. But these things that said in the last sentence are not useful so what i mean by saying this; these words are not using daily life. we use "tuvalet or lavabo" in daily life.
