Hi, teacher, here is my response to the academic discussion. Can you please evaluate it? Thank you! While I appreciate the ideas Sam mentions, I agree with the points makes by Sarah. I want to add that workings at home are more economical for the companies and the employees. The companies don’t need to buy or rent a spacious office, meanwhile, the employees don’t have to drive cars, or take some other transportations to their offices every morning at the rush hour and the same as they go back home after work. These can save much more of their times, gasoline fees etc,. Moreover, as Ally says that working at home is more comfortable, and you don’t need to dress up, which can help you reduce stress and is definitely good for your health.

Hi there and thank you for asking. The time is for the entire section. On test day, you are in control of how long you have for each question. You press the next button and can spend as little or as much time as you would like on a question (within the allocated time to complete the section).

Hello Josh, thank you for everything. I wanted to ask you about the speaking, I say everything that the question is asking for, from giving an opinion to an examples to summarizing a lecture, but I never hit the 100 word limit, and I don’t have any silence moments in my speaking. Will that make my grade lower? My exam is this Saturday and I’m slightly afraid about this thing. Also thanks for your emergency course.

Thank you for your question. Part of your grade is calculated based on how many words you speak during the minute you are given. For question one, because you only have 45 seconds, you want to be aiming for about 120 words. For questions 2-4, you want to try and reach 160 words. If you fall significantly short of these numbers, it will likely impact your grade, so try and say as many words as possible.

I feel so grateful for all the TST prep materials because I got my dream score. I reached 26 in reading, 30 in listening, 24 in speaking and 23 in writing. I am absolutely happy with my scores, and I want to acknowledge all the great videos on this amazing channel.

Hi Josh, thanks for your videos. Could anyone tell me whether it is possible to skip questions in the reading section and answer randomly (for example, to answer the 7th question first, the last - the second, etc)?

I wouldn't recommend skipping questions, but yes, you can do it. In fact, the only section that will let you skip questions is the reading section.

Hi there and congratulations on your score! As for your question, it is always important to check with the program you are applying to. Some may require only a total score of X, while others may have more specific scores. For example, an overall score of 100 with a 26 or above in speaking.

For writing, I did well, I'm used to writing essays because I learned to for the common app, and from arguments on the internet. I used the templates I found on ur channel for the speaking :) Also, it's worth noting I have a 1560 SAT, so I'm good at multiple choice stuff.

Would you say that ChatGPT is a good reviewer for my writing part? I asked it to check my grammar and vocabulary and it gave me suggestions for improvement but my texts where well-structured and already well written

Hi there, and thank you for your question. Chat GPT is a good option for measuring grammar and vocabulary, but it will not be ideal in terms of structure and style. Also, it's not a perfect tool, and it was not designed to grade TOEFL essays, so I would stick to using it mostly for ideas and feedback on grammar and vocabulary. Ideally, have a teacher who can give you feedback based on your essay and Chat GPT's feedback (if possible).

How do timing in listening section work in real test? Do they set timer individually for each question in 30 seconds like you did?

Good question. On the test, you can go to the next question without waiting for the next one to appear. We calculated about 30 seconds per question for this video on KZread, which equals out about the same amount of time you will have in total on test day.

i just had a doubt, in integrated writing, ets has mentioned effective response of 150-225 words where you have250-350 words, i also have my response done in your criteria but im worried how will i work it out if its 225, can you clarify?

There is no maximum length for your response. According to ETS, your integrated essay needs to be somewhere between 150-225 words. However, we find that students who write between 250 - 300 words score higher. Hope this helps!

Hey, I was wondering if the toefl test keeps track of time for us. Meaning do I have to make sure that the speech is 45 seconds or will the test automatically time that for me and move onto the next question.

When you take the test, you will see a countdown timer on the screen. When the time is up, the recording stops, and you'll go to the next question.

At the end of each practice test, you will find an answer key, information to help determine your score, and explanations of the answers. As for the Speaking section, you can self-evaluate your responses using our grading rubrics or sign up for a speaking evaluation with one of our teachers - tstprep.com/store/toefl-speaking-evaluation/. A very good question. The plural form of research is also research. This is an irregular noun that breaks the rule with s/es. So answer D covers both types of research.
