Todra Gorge and the Tinghir Oasis from Merzouga. Road trip through Morocco and where to stay!

If, like us you are wanting an authentic experience in Morocco this stretch of our road trip quickly became one of our favorite quick stop overs.
The road from Merzouga to Tinerhir is full of sheep and goat herding, hand built shelters and beautiful flora and fauna of the area. The roads are easy to navigate and offer a view of the mountains as you leave the Sahara in your rear view mirror.
Tinerhir lies just between the bustling city of Tinghir and the Todra Gorge. A stay with Hassan at Kasbah Omari offers a perfect location with the most incredible views. We wandered ruins, we're serenaded by birds and enjoyed the most delicious family dinner in the kasbah.
Book it here : www.booking.com/Share-BodEDl
As you drive the gorge, you can enjoy the views at every turn, or if you are seeking more adventures, find a hike like the one mapped out here : anywhereweroam.com/todra-gorg...
You can set up a bike or rock climbing excursion or just enjoy a coffee by the river. However you like to explore, don't skip this stop between Marrekesh and Merzouga

While you are in Morocco. You must visit the American legation in Tanger to discover the shared history between the USA and the Empire of Morocco. I think it is a must specially if tou are hone schooling the kids. I will definately bring mine specially for a visit. Anothet place worth the visit is the light house compoubd in cape spartel in tanger.
