Never understood why this wasn't a smash hit! I heard it on Toronto radio station Q107 a bit but that's it.

Ha! We had a Q107 in DC and in the late 70s I won a copy of the soundtrack to Rock & Roll High School which aside from the Ramones, introduced me to Todd, Nick Lowe, Devo and, a big one for me, Brian Eno. Yeah. this should have been a smash hit.

Fun fact: The lyrics of the chorus are a proverb that has variants going back to the 13th century. Benjamin Franklin has a version in his Poor Man’s Almanac. It’s also included in many nursery rhyme books, though no one knows the exact origins. Love this song, one of my favorites. Also though, the six-fingered hand in the cover is unsettling lol.

Affirmative. So much talent often is slow to appreciate. Rundgren has been an innovator for decades. His visit to Daryl's house was edifying, adding to🎼 what music is all about.
