Thanks! I bought the same few weeks ago. And I'm yet to try it.

Informative and helpful. I’ve been considering a trail jack for emergency situations when riding. Like you, this one is probably not going to be my first choice. Thanks for a great video.

Thanks for the comment. Ya It works but I think you can see it's a bit unrefined

An honest and comprehensive review Dino and Karl. For people who like to make their own gear -- I use two tubes- one slides inside the other - with a series of holes and a pin for height adjust. I have a simple nylon rope and adjuster (sidestand to frame in front of engine ) to stop the side stand from collapsing - this is a must. Procedure - secure sidestand, push bike towards sidestand to get front or back wheel off ground, place tube stand on swing arm or frame as required.

Great information, thank you for sharing. Karl and I were going to work on a "homemade vs purchased stand, I have one similar to the one you describe only it used threaded rod inside a tube. I will make sure to mention your safety procedure when we complete that video. Again thank you for the feedback. Dino

@@DinosTinkerShed ; I tried the one a lot of people use……the aluminum adjustment cane, cut down to size. The push button adjuster failed(popped right out) and down went motorcycle. I look forward to a future video on the same subject👍🍺

Another option is to prop up the bike on a log, stump or rock. Also can use a large piece of branch to stand the bike up from the opposite side of side stand.

Minor adaptations, add a fold up small tripod base to replace the single leg for greater base support in rough/soft terrain.

I've seen other similar types where they actually push the bike on the side stand to lift the other side up, then place the jack under the frame or swingarm and then let it back down onto the jack.

I have seen these as well, I don't know if this one would work like that as easily as one that is a straight post type jack. but I should try it. Thank you for the feedback Dino

You can buy or make a trail stand based off the EnduroStar model. Made one for my CRF here in Vietnam, great for using for both front and rear.

@@DinosTinkerShed Sure thing! You can also make out of an old crutch and hand tools for those without a massive set of tools.

+1 for the Endurostar. Hard to beat in terms of compactness vs. utility. Fits easily in a tool tube too.

Sketchy is an accurate description. I have the same one. I don’t recommend is at all. While it does work, it barely gets the job done, with a lot of fussing with. I had the same problems you did, plus some😂. Regarding the rear tire; I found the same. You need to put the bottom forward of the top. The top is so slippery. However, on pavement the bottom would slip out. Mine did not come with the extra rubber piece(maybe they started including them after bad customer feedback). Regarding the front tire. I have a skid plate that works against this contraption, because there is no where to seat the top portion of the jack. If I plan on keeping this thing(and I won’t😂), I would drill a hole in the front of the skid plate, to install a removable nut, bolt and 2/3” spacer, so this piece of crap can sit there while I fight with my tire change. Oh the final thing……couldn’t they make that adjustment screw a few inches longer?🤦‍♂️. If anyone has a better solution, even at 3X the price of this, I’m all ears.

Lash a Dirt Napper to the bike to keep it from kicking out and it would achieve more than one function. Possibly better? More money though.

So they need to add two pieces of supporting wood/plastic/metal so it doesn't sink. One for the tank and one for the kickstand.

Might work better on the front If you turn the tire to the right.
