@@paulandsarahcaravanlife same sort of rip off a friend of mine works on helicopters the gas strut was week so they got in touch with the people who supply them air espcial in France €385. One of the guys checked the tailgate strut on his Astra same size same N/M it was only used to stop the fibreglass helicopter door from blowing in the wind when on the ground. So ordered one from a Vauxhall dealer think it was around £30.00 working fine that was 3 years ago.

Nice one.......now here's what my version would be like: Steve opens cupboard and door falls off......onto his head...... Steve takes old gas strut off......screwdriver slips and gouges a hole in Steve's hand..... colourful language follows......cupboard door put back on.......eventually......new gas strut holes lines up and whilst drilling the holes.......the drill bit snaps.......more colourful language....replacement drill bit found and after some time the holes are drilled and the new gas strut is put in place......Steve's glasses fall off several times......feeling proud of himself, Steve tests the new gas strut by closing the cupboard door......onto his fingers.......more colourful language........you get the idea.......DIY is not my strongest suit....... I'm off now, back to my padded cell......Steve

Always reminds me of Kenny Everett when he did that DIY guy that always cut off a finger or managed to put a nail in his hands or a MASSIVE bangde around his head 🤣😆🤣😂🙂😂😅😆 that's what I was thinking today. @@paulandsarahcaravanlife Cheers Paul I could regale you with many tales of woe ( for that read ineptitude) but there aren’t enough hrs in the day….. not bad for someone who does Health and Safety as part of his job…. Just off now to make a cuppa….. once I have completed the risk assessment 🤣🤣🤣

Grate video Paul I will keep it in mind about original parts. Just had to change a wheel arch spat on my 2004 sterling eccles amber after a horse kicked it. Lucky the rider owned up to it and paid for the part £150 from caravan panels
