I feel like in one's journey to become a good person it's essential to be self-centered for some period time, but you can't remain self-centered and complete the journey. Your aspirations can't be to be comfortable and play games if you want to be a good person. Having no goals doesn't make you a bad person, it just make you a child. I would guess that having kids, like Fanfan mentioned, is probably the most common thing that causes the perspective shift needed in order to grow out of self-centeredness.

lol what are you on, I'm a dude with the same outlook as her. Like many people are saying there is probably something wrong, because humans naturally aspire to do *something* even if it isn't just related to your career. I feel the exact same way daily, I'm not ultra depressed where I stay in bed, but theres no motivation to do anything but "exist" for lack of a better word.
