I had a feeling it was gonna be clockwise as soon as I saw a rectangular construction site along the north direction of Toa Payoh East (Kim Keat).

The bus stops on the anticlockwise side of the loop would be built when 230 is merged with 232

Probably so that the bus stop served by 230 is on the same side of the road as Kim Keat Beacon BTO (whose residents would be the target audience of 230)

230 will be merged with 232 to form 232G/232W in future btw It's only an interim service

There is no official launch date for 230, and its yet to be confirmed.

That date is finally confirmed, its now official that 230 will start from 24 September onwards.

Just go Lor 6, tpy east, Kim Keat beacon. Lor 7 lor 8, turn left to lor 6(Blk 1). Then lor 6 then lor 7 n Kim keat beacon n back to interchange. At least can get easier access to lor 8 market and serve those Blk 225/226/3/4 paxes instead of using the current 238.

I mean I can't say I'm a big fan of fleet cuts of one service just so we can add a new service, although if 230 is more of a route variant of 238 than an entirely unique route it's probably fine. As for alternative routes it'll be interesting to see what LTA decides to do, but wah a bit heart pain if you stay so near by to the city centre yet the only bus that serves ur area detours thru another area alr served by a bus (although yes, ik 232 isn't direct to tpy either). But if they're gonna route it thru Lor 7 then you'll see bus stops being built there soon, so no need to speculate yet. As for whether it'll be an area loop around Kim Keat or looping at the roundabout like 235... i suspect depends on what roads are built by the time of implementation.

It's actually nice that they chose 230 (239 is also possible) since 230 was a historical route from Toa Payoh Town Centre to Lorong 8

is there really that much thought put into bus numbers other than just smacking a number on it? obv for feeders there's the categorising of the first two digits but like idk how it makes a difference lol

Maybe the berths could move, e.g. 142 moved to B4 to accommodate 230.

9:08 In that case, then I would probably see 230 (or I'd rather number it as 239) looping in a figure-8 fashion like this: Lorong 6 -> Lorong 7 -> Toa Payoh East -> Kim Keat Roundabout -> Toa Payoh East -> Lorong 6

i mean you could, but the only untouched area on the West side of TPY is TPY West, and there's like nothing there except maybe SJII, so like... a bit pointless as of now?
