    everyone is criticizing those 4 guys. remco fans, jonas fans, tadej fans, primoz fans, everyone should stop whining and realize what a presious privilege it is to watch those 4 magnificent riders participate in the tour de france at the same time. I hope they will all be in good health in good shape so that we can witness these beautiful mountain stages regardless of who wins.

    You have to give it to Jonas, that effort to get back on the wheel was a masterpiece. He looked exhausted at the end though so do UAE and Pogi actually take more of a positive from today than we first thought? and do they try it again and again until Jonas cracks/they think he will crack? VERY compelling tour thus far.

  • @crocopbull

    @crocopbull

    17 күн бұрын

    So far Tadej could be the one cracking. He is not riding smart and instead of being on the defensive he is underestimating Jonas. Jonas is the Champion for a reason and Tadej is wasting precious energy on attacks when he should be the one allowing Jonas to attack in my opinion. Jonas showed he has the heart of Legends...

  • @Knofris

    @Knofris

    17 күн бұрын

    @@crocopbullDo you really think he is underestimating Jonas? I’d say quite the opposite. The fact that he tries everything in the first and seeking week to gain time to Jonas shows that he doesn’t want to take any risk going into the third week with a low lead.

  • @crocopbull

    @crocopbull

    17 күн бұрын

    @Knofris I think Tadej lacks what Jonas has, and that is self-control. Jonas is very strategic and only pushes when he needs to. He is very economical on how he uses his powers. In contrast, Tadej tends to be careless and let's his competitive drive get the best of him at times. I guess what I'm trying to say is that Tadej has to be more cerebral when competing with Jonas as opposed to just relying on sheer strength and explosiveness. These riders are so opposite on how they approached the tour, and that is what makes this tour so intriguing and exciting to watch. Who knows who's going to win, but Jonas is perhaps the most cerebral rider of the gc contenders and has an unbreakable will. Tadej is the most gifted and relentless of them all.

    I think Jonas has now the psychological upper hand. After his fall a few months ago maybe Pogacar underestimated what he has to do during the TdF and maybe didn't push this much the last three months during his prep. He was definitely surprised how good Jonas was already again. 😅 That doesn't mean that Jonas is the favourite now but I think its much closer than expected. Either way I am convinced that it will be a brilliant Tour with many more tight stages 😄🫶

    On the Col de Pertus to recover Pogi, Vingegaard averaged almost 420 watts for 12 minutes. Considering the injury he had, these are incredible figures. It means that compared to 2023 he gained in relative terms. Are we facing someone with unique physical characteristics? Why he didn't it emerge so strong a few years ago? How is it possible that such sensitive values improve with increasing age? Is modern cycling that advanced? In other sports, where there is even more money running around, one gets the impression that here we are light years behind. It's true that cycling is above all an individual sport, and therefore for example football doesn't have this push for individual physical performance, but here these values are crazy
