They don't make movies as character driven as To Sir With Love anymore. Now it's all action-heroes, super-heroes (for kids masquerading as adults), and special effects. We are in one of the worst eras of film making of all time. Perhaps the worst. And it's not going away any time soon. And please, NO MORE dinosaur movies.

I taught world history and had some of the typical troublemaking teenagers who thought they were the center of attention.(Fortunately, they were the minority.) One of my students had seen the movie somehow and he told me that I should show it to the whole class. If they don't remember dates and specific laws and tariffs, I'll live. If they learned the constant themes of nationalism, imperialism, religious fervor, disparities between the wealthy and the poor, themes that have marched us to war since time immemorial, then I am grateful for every moment I spent as a teacher. To all teachers everywhere, thank you. To teachers in Texas and Florida who are having chains bind them from teaching the truth, I stand with you and pray that people come to their senses.

Those schoolgirl days Of telling tales and biting nails are gone But in my mind I know they will still live on and on But how do you thank someone Who has taken you from crayons to perfume? It isn't easy, but I'll try If you wanted the sky I would write across the sky in letters That would soar a thousand feet high "To sir, with love" The time has come For closing books and long last looks must end And as I leave I know that I am leaving my best friend A friend who taught me right from wrong And weak from strong That's a lot to learn What, what can I give you in return? If you wanted the moon I would try to make a start But I would rather you let me give my heart "To sir, with love"

(Romans 1:16 KJV) 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, THE GOSPEL of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, (Ephesians 1:13 KJV) 👉what’s THE GOSPEL? THE GOSPEL is the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, 1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you THE GOSPEL which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS according to the scriptures; 4 And that HE WAS BURIED, and that HE ROSE AGAIN THE THIRD DAY according to the scriptures: (1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV) 👉 DONT MESS WITH THE GOSPEL! “But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. Brilliant! Not only did I fall in love with this movie and adored Sydney Poitier but this song touched my life in a personal way…in 1968 as I was being wheeled to recovery after giving birth to my first born (a son) this song played on the hospital sound system and gave a new meaning to the words “To Sir With Love”…and it brings back that moment in time whenever I hear it! 💕

This movie was so groundbreaking and powerful ..... it addresses so many levels of society and all in one of the most turbulent decades in human history ..... And the title song , one of the greatest as well ...... the acting was brilliant in this film .....
My favorite part of this movie is when the song "It's getting harder all the time" by the Mindbenders plays and Sir is forced to dance, after which the students offer him a gift with Lulu singing To Sir with Love...Endless chills and tears...

I hadn't heard this song in years, and to see the movie clips is such a great way to start my Saturday. Thank you Sir! or madam .. Sir fit so well, LOL.
Listening to this song once again, thinking of my old school days, what a shock I had when I left school, as back in the 70’s there was no one to help you, if you never got all your eduction for one reason or another because life happens. As John Lennon Said, And boy did it happen to me, when my mum went into hospital, my Dad went to pieces, my sister left home to live with her boyfriend all at the same time, I just cried because I had to learn everything my mum did and go to school, So school ended I went to work, as there was no college which I never thought I needed anyway, I ended up wasting my life, Because I have loads of regrets, But have learned to live with them, Because Life Happens 😢But this film really makes me cry because you don’t think you are that bothered about school, But I would go back in a heartbeat ❤
what a great message from a man who lived the part, the late but always great Sidney Poitier

ONE DAMN GOOD SONG! SO PERFECT FOR THIS MOVIE
いつも心に太陽を🎵良い映画でしたね〜ポアチエってやはり名優でしたね〜😮
Exemplo para professores e alunos nos tempos atuais 🇧🇷♥️👪⛪😇🙏
Seeing To Sir with love in my early teens made me want to become a teacher. Thank you, Sydney Portier, may you rest in peace. Thank you for this, I'm a happy subscriber!!!
I feel bad as I'm from Glasgow and I'm not a massive fan of Lulu . But no-one could have sang this any better. I loved her , man who fell to earth. Brilliant. A David Bowie song. 🤗🎶
Great film.💖 Unforgetable ! . What a great actor Poitier was. The song by LULU is beautiful .
Timeless song! 🎶... RIP Sidney Poitier from NZ ❤️🇳🇿
What can you say, great tune and a great movie.
A heart-melting rendition of a true classic from my childhood! THANK YOU!!
She has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard in my life ❤
