To Sell Or Not To Sell
An idea was proposed that I sell mini firewood bundles at my local farmers market. Should I do it? Enjoy!

If you were to do the farmers markets, you should have something to sell everybody such as fire starters, smoker chips/chunks, kindling, bundles, even an everything included fire kit with everything from matches and fire starters, kindling, and wood like a one night fire type of thing

All great points and ideas - I like it! Thanks for watching and for the support, keep cuttin'!
I'm on the fence wether it would pay off. You could think of it as buying advertising. Thanks Travis.

You're not alone with that opinion, Brian. Very interesting trend in the comments. Keep cuttin'!
Yo Travis, I think It can’t hurt to try the farmers market out, great way to get your name out In the area. Price sounds same as my local farmers market, they charge 20$ a day for a table. Keep on splitting!

Copy that, Tony. I'll keep chewing on the idea. Keep cuttin'!
Let's go to a lake farmer's market and have a booth And then have stuff like your KZread channel And have like many firewood that they can take

Morning Steven! Many thanks for your continued support, keep cuttin'!
As with many things in life…you don’t know unless you try…plus you’d need to show up consistently in order to make a fair judgement of the ROI

Cute kid lol. I have no clue on the business Opp. Way out of my field. I do think it's cool to ask your viewers. Smart. Wealth of info out here.

Many thanks, Marcus. A lot about my channel is sharing knowledge, esp on my podcast. Folks do chime in and respond to each other's comments - it's great! Thanks again for watching, keep cuttin'!
Now that's a good question. But like others have said it would be an advertised venture for the channel. As for the ending goes we see where your son gets the good looks from. Even though we have never seen the wife yet. 😉👍

Good point, Dan. Hah, for sure. Wife to make an appearance one day. Keep cuttin'!
I have a bit of experience at farmers markets and art/craft shows usually involving my turned wood items. I think it's not a big enough seller to make it worthwhile but as someone else commented, it might be an advertising opportunity.

Definitely a niche product. Keep me posted on your sales, Curtis. Keep cuttin'!
I have considered this but need to build my inventory. I think it would be good for the specialty stuff. smoking varieties and mini wood and bbq chips and what not

Agree, Brian. Don't want to get into something and not be able to deliver. Good ideas on smoking woods and chip - people tend to pay a premium for that. Keep cuttin'!
the ending... :-)

I would try it if I could still just be a "cash only" operation without a formal-business. I might try partnering with a couple local produce stands in my atea as I think they will work with me without all the business requirements

Totally valid points, I appreciate your sharing. Thanks for watching, keep cuttin'!
Think Facebook and stand(s) is the idea. Unless you're gonna make full blown business, too many fees, hoops, regulations. We have a big one here in Rochester. Other smaller ones around but i dont think theyre every week. Ithaca has a big one too. Just A Few Acres sells his wares there.

Hi!! That’s too cute! Way too much regulation on a farmers market over there. Get yourself an “LLC” and that should show them you’re legit. The little town closest to us just lets people pick a spot and set up and sell whatever, free. The big markets require state vendors certification which is free and you pay the $25 a day for a booth. Everything has to be homemade and homegrown. I get the best local wines at the big markets. I think you should build inventory and take a stab at it, don’t let THEM piss on your opportunity. Mini firewood is starting to catch fire, lol.

Many thanks, son is a handful. All good points, I appreciate your two-cents. Buying local is the way to go. Keep cuttin'!
That's crazy they want you to pay tax's. I've never heard of that at the farmers markets. Never seen firewood at farmers market eaither. I don't think it would work selling firewood at the markets here. I think you should start stockpiling bundles and get several hundred put up before winter and get in with a convenient store.

Now that's an idea, Mike. We'll see what we can do. Thanks for watching, keep cuttin'!
Great Video Travis, sounds like a great idea. I think the mini bundle’s would sell. Big commitment, as far as your time devoted to being at the stand. If your looking to expand, is starting a second road side stand at a different location something to consider? You’ll figure it out, good luck! Stay Safe, Continue Stacking, Keep Cuttin!🪵🪵🪵🪵
