Best film of 1985 hands down. Love the ending. It's ballsy and unpredictable. William Friedkin's underrated masterpiece.
@TJPenitencia
The tracking shot that follows the two cars as they approach the end of the bridge is AMAZING. That required perfect setup and timing.

"To Live and Die in L.A." is a great movie; one of my all time favorites. Maybe because I was in my 20's then, I don't know why, but it has always stuck in my mind. It's not just the car chase either. Willem Dafoe has a great part, as does Robert Downey, Sr.; yes "Senior." Someone posted that the music used for the car chase seemed out of place. Wang Chung was a cutting edge/new wave band in the mid 80's. Given the edgy feel of the movie being set in L.A., it was totally appropriate.

I wish you'd kept the scene at the end when they finally ditch the car in a shitty neighborhood with the sun going down over that empty lot--you FEEL their relief.
