To Lake Baikal in Siberia by Train

Today we embark on a fascinating trip from Irkutsk to Lake Baikal in Siberia by train.
This stunning scenic journey is a 12 hour day trip which includes a touristic train ride, and a ferry crossing of the lake and then a bus ride back to Irkutsk, a must-do excursion if you're ever in this part of the world!

    There are lots of stunning stations in Russia - inside this one they have not done such a great job compared to others.

    I am going to watch again in full when I get back from the pub as the WiFi isn't great. But, certainly an impressive looking station and journey. (And, if a map were to fall through my letterbox; it will get pride of place next to the UK version and my departure board🤞)

    Excellent. One day I‘d also like to stand with my feet in the water of Lake Baikal! But how come there was no snow? My impression has always been that in January temperatures are well below freezing there.
