To Be The One You Love
To Be The One You Love
Des O'Connor 1971
45 rpm Capital Canada 72646 "B" side. "A" side "Remember My Heart"
33 rpm Columbia/EMI UK vinyl SCX 6516 (out of print)
To be the one you love
To see forever in your eyes
To know they'll be no more goodbyes
Now I have you
To be the hand you reach to hold
And never think of growing old
To know the greatest story told
Of love come true, with you
To share what fate may bring
A time to cry, a time to sing
To know my world has everything
Now I have you
To leave the shadows of the night
And touch your face at morning light
To know how lucky I must be
To be the one you love, the one you love
Instrumental chorus
Repeat last verse...
To be the one you love

Des O'Connor's version is the best for male vocals. Brings out all the feelings in it. Thank you very much for uploading this extremely romantic song !!

Congratulations, you are Blessed. English version of the song "Anonimo Veneziano (La pasión de un gran amor)"(in Spanish): "Anonymous Venetian (The passion of a Great Love)" An Italian film though.
This song is a life changer, it is and was for me.....
What a great era of romantic song it was. What a great composers and musical directors worked. Everything was real, every singer, especially crooners, had slight taste and unrepeteable way of bringing the song to the listener. Smooth voice of Des O'Connor just taking me very high. Thank you
What a lyrics, voice and music. Very romantic.

Hi from Russia! Amazing music! In the seventies, I recorded a great instrumental version of this song on a tape recorder. But, unfortunately, it is not on the Internet and I don’t know which orchestra performs it. I would be grateful if someone would tell me. Thank you, friends!
