*We've got a bit of a Throwback Thursday today as I recently replayed the TNA Impact game for the first time since it released!* Overall I found the story to be pretty good, although the matches get really repetitive due to the lack of match types. I still can't believe they made the main character into an actual star! 😅

The graphics were so good and still hold up today in my opinion. I wish Midway never shut down as who knows how better the sequels would have been.

I love how they used a version of their theme songs in the background when they were on screen

Suicide with eyeballs looks so weird to me. But he's still one of my favorite Impact wrestlers of all time.

Nash’s voice work in this game is actually much better, more animated, and very hammy than the wcw invasion story in WWE 12

Yeah the character creation was ps3/360 only so if you played on ps2 you got Suicide X

I still can't believe Suicide started as a video game character

Most underrated wrestling game ever

This was the last thing I was expecting to see today

Man they seriously made the main custom character in the story an actual wrestler with it wearing the default costume shown in the opening cutscene. That's a bit weird but hey most characters in professional wresting are weird

This game predicted AJ Styles wrestling in Japan

I miss when y'all showed the best of community creations.

Always love that scene of Suicide getting punched into a shooting star press by LAX. Somebody need too recreate that as their finisher on tv.

The game had so much potential… like why couldn’t they add just 5 knockouts at least and have better hair graphics like SvR series

Actually these were better graphics than the svr game at the time specially for caws. The only fault the game had was it was a little stiff and less options.

Used to love this game… as an avid fan of the cruiserweights, due to loving the highflying/speedy wrestlers…TNA and their x division was awesome. Plus that 6 sided ring was dope.

My favorite playable character to play and the video game. I have him on my WWE roster on Monday Night Raw and SmackDown. As one of the current tag team champions.

this was a fun game...well great graphics and awesome storyline were better than smk vs raw series...the reversals were fun

Wait . . . how hadn't I noticed the Suicide character eyes being viewable before. Been a long time since I've played it admittedly. Liked the game and thought it was a decent first TNA/Impact Wrestling game although lacking options which always hoped that a follow up game would have added to and improved.

Match after match with the same jobbers and the same 5 moves sucked. Tag matches were damn near broken.

I loved this game and loved TNA at that time. It was what AEW is for most now.

I had this on PS2 back in the day, by far the best lookin' PS2 game graphics wise, even the arena lighting too.

I played the PS2 version and it stank.. I played the PS3 version that was way more fun. It's a shame they didn't have a sequel

I wish the gameplay wasn't ass. All the wrestling games with Sal Divita end up sucking. This team worked on WWE All Stars. Just not my style. I wasn't into the WrestleMania the Arcade style ones either (thank you 616 Entertainment for your retrospectives) Immortals seems interesting. I wish they'd resurrect that abd put it in console between simulation style games.

@@Smacktalks That RTWN wasn't the same as the ones with Justin Leeper but they had interesting moments like the transitions between characters. The one where Seamus crawls down the ramp was memorable. But they rebooked the Invasion but with less star power... and all those Vader/Animal handicap matches in the backstage.
