First I would like to say I love Uniworld (4 cruises) but this is the second video I have seen that informs people approximately how much they are paying in commissions to their travel agents. To me, this is saying I should call Uniworld and say that seeing as I am not working with a travel agent, how about reducing the price for me by the amount that you would have been paying a travel agent.

Actually Uniworld distribution are pretty much thru wholesale trade where they also benefit from upfront large block incentives made by travel consortia. Basically B2B plays a huge roles. Their distribution chanel is the opposite of Retail Royal Caribbean etc. Because their pricing tier is for luxury segment (she said Four Seasons; Ritz Carlton) the same you would get more perks in these luxury hotels that are booked thru a consortia agent than BAR rate Retail website (B2C). This channel mostly relays B2C though. It is confusing but your lowering the price is irrelevant in B2B business model.

Actually the Consortia is giving you additional perks. just remember the prominent wholesale distributors got the largest scale of world's agencies beyond a single cruise brand. So your way of thinking is unfortunately from pure retail buyer.
