"Las Tortugas Ninja estan con vos" seeing that advert made me remember some very old memories of seeing it on old turtles comics, wonder if those where bootlegged as well, "ingenio gaucho, che". For any one curious it means "The Ninja Turtles are with you"

Al Negator head on Mondo Gecko body? As a kid I would've loved that. Actually, I think I should still have these two original figures in a box somewhere...

For what it’s worth Phelous, I was given the Alligator guy with a box full of TMNT figures as a kid and never told any different, so not only is this news to me, but I can at least see why these ended up bashed together since the styles are so similar.

Hey Phelous if you use some heat to soften up the plastic on the tail/peg you could probably get his tail on that way. Heat is also good for loosening up stuck joints.

Just when you thought Phelan was out of TMNT bootlegs, he pulls you back in with even more TMNT bootlegs

I can appreciate the effort in levity, but I sincerely disagree. If there's one aspect that NT:TNM didn't utterly fail at, it was its production department; especially for a TV show which would presumably have only a fraction of the classic movie's budget. I would even go as far as to say that the Turtles and Splinter of NT:TNM look better than those of TMNT III. That said, I don't dig their 'roided out physic, nor their tacky pro wrestling inspired gear.

Not sure if I should be more impressed by how they put "just enough" effort into the figures and packaging to fool someone who didn't know they were buying a bootleg and didn't put in one bit more.......or that someone besides me remembered that Pizzaface was a thing.

Mondo Gator's tail falling off can be seen as a defense mechanism, as there are species of lizards who have evolved to lose their tail (which regrow)! However, since he's part gator, it doesn't grow back!

Say Phelous, i don't know if this would work for you since ...bootlegs be bootlegs; but when i've had some tight plastic holes to stuff for my character models (anime junk), i was once told you can use heat to make the plastic more malleable. So like, a hair dryer could work, if you struggle with too tight plastic holes in the future :D!

you should heat up a mug of water for three minutes in a microwave and dip the tail peg in it for about 5-10 seconds. This will soften the plastic. Also helps loosen super tight joints.

The purple gator is kinda cool. The Bucky O’Hare figures always look like they were made by Playmates anyway, so it’s works with TMNT.

The hybrid gator actually has a neat design. Too bad his parts don’t fit right.

I have the original model of the body for the Alligator guy, it's the body of Mondo Gecko just slightly modified on the purple gator guy

So, I may be biased, but I grew up with the late 80's and early 90's TMNT. Growing up as a poor kid, Ninja Turtles figures were amazing because you could get them for $4.99 at my local K-Mart. I had so many TMNT figures it was insane. The newer versions of the figures aren't as great. They don't come with as many accessories, they don't have blood, guts, bugs, whatever on them like the classic figure line. They don't have the FLAIR the original figures had. I am a huge fan of Legos, but I can't always afford the offical brand. Add to the fact Lego has a tendency to discontinue sets all the time, I have found myself turning more and more to AliExpress to get cheap, out of print Lego sets. If a Chinese seller managed to start reproducing TMNT figures with a good quality to them, I'd be buying them like crazy for my niece and nephew. Unfortunately it appears there is a recurring theme of bootleg figures being shit.

I never got why people kept labeling Bucky O'Hare as a TMNT copy. Yeah the original comic came out around the same time as TMNT's original comic and the cartoon was pretty much made to capitalize on the toyline craze of that era but if you actually watch it, it has more in common with Star Fox.
