Tekken 7 has already surpassed 4 million sales with a much smaller budget. I also hope that they develop tekken 8 a bit more. What made this game was the gameplay, without a doubt.

They're all garbage. Steve's is one of the worst, 2 minutes of exposition and then it just ends. You can't tell me that no-one could think of a more interesting way of progressing the story than having Nina and Steve literally just stand around and talk at each other. Feng's would have been dope if the fight didn't end in 2 seconds. Was nice to see Law being almost cool for once

@@takezokimura2571 she didn't replace Jun, she came out 2 games later, a replacement is what they did with raven and master raven, Bruce and josie, and as far as I know Jun will be back in the next game because it's the end of the Mishimas, at least that's what everyone says, but can they give Asuka some good action with her family and not with an annoying girl who just makes her look stupid?

@@shadowchild9605 Moveset-wise Asuka did replace Jun in Tekken 5, the game where they brought many old characters like Ganryu, Bruce and Wang, who were all absent since Tekken 2(Tag1). But they created Asuka instead of bringing Jun back (Asuka had the same moveset as Tekken Tag 1 Jun). It was only in Tekken tag 2 that Jun got a different moveset than Asuka.

Not even exaggerating here, the playerbase consists of nothing but assholes, who hold zero regard for how you perform, for as long as you are at an disadvantage and they get a cheap win out of doing, literally, nothing (the pro players don't count, because they do this for a living and they are not like them, so we are stuck dealing with MOSTLY arrogant pricks, that think very highly of themselves, but always end up ruining your day, because they can). And the fact, that the blame solely gets put on the character (that doesn't even exist in the real world, mind you), rather than the devs or the players themselves... realize it yet? Pretty dumb, huh? Hating on a character and deeming it trash tier, just because of gameplay and nothing else, tell me how this is fair? Every character, serves a purpose and it lies way beyond the realms of just playing them and just winning matches. Like it or not, life is not all about just playing online matches, you also want to feel attached to your main in some way or another, emotionally. And Eddy is a good example of this. He is a guy, that wants vengeance for his family, but knows, he may never have the chance, for as long as he is alive, so for him, life absolutely sucks. And he simply gets no moments of getting cut some slack for once. After all this, you would also desire your main to have a happy ending. ...and NOT what he got in Tekken 7. Yeah, I know, I may sound a little out of line here, but all I am saying is: A character, should NEVER be judged, solely by how they play. The design, the backstory, their plot, their character growth... all this, means a lot more, than you may realize. Ask Virtua Fighter. Gameplay = Amazing. But why did it fail financially? Could it be, because beyond gameplay, the games failed to feel alive, especially in regards to the characters? Because there was no Story Mode worth talking about, to keep the interest high and make it stand out from all the other fighters out there? Naaah, I am just imagening things here.

As someone who plays Tekken competitively, I must say I do wish that there was more things to get into once you get sick of all the Ler - I mean playing online. However there’s really not much to do unfortunately. A lot of fighting games fell into that “If the gameplay is good nothing else matters” trope. Good gameplay is always good but jeez I just wish there was more.

@@chartsol5923 To me, Tekken 7 is simply not Tekken anymore. For me Tekken is no bullshit cartoon-like stuff like Rage drives, rage arts and armor moves. Also, Tekken's philosophy has always been "The quicker move is the better one" but all the things I've mentioned earlier completely throw this concept out of the window and to me that's the death of Tekken. I actually stopped playing more than a year ago but if I'd restart, I would 100% prefer playing TTT2 than T7

The fact that ALL that was written....reviewed...confirmed....and then animated.....and then went through all that post production....and still made it through . . It just blows my mind

Correction: Shaheen actually literally says "working with me" but it says "working for me" in the subtitles. Both statements go in entirely different directions.

Used to play Tekken 4 on the PS2 when I was a kid, was absolutely amazed with everything- the character's stories, the stages and music. As I grew up, I never really heard about any of the other Tekken games until Tekken 7 was announced. I got Tekken 7 when it came out, very excited to see what I've been missing since 4. It goes without saying that my disappointment was immeasurable. I fucking hate what they did to Tekken.

Miguel's ending makes complete sense. As far as why he spared him, think about it. Miguel said they killed his sister like she was nothing, during likely the happiest day of her life. Her wedding, when she was filled with the most hope for her future. That is exactly why he said he'd wait until then, why Jin doesn't deserve death at that moment.

That's pretty flimsy reasoning mathew.

Asuka's ending is basically a meta admission that they see the potential of involving her in the Mishima-mess, but instead have her be occupied with the Lili-feud, who may or may not end up taking over parts of her fighting style in Tekken 8. That's brutal for Asuka-fans.

My dissapointment is immeasurable... and my day is ruined.

I never paid any attention to these endings, never seen them before. In the older Tekken games, I remember it was all about the endings and we would play the story mode over and over again to see them lol

Someone got caught up and spent all the budget in Steve's ending alone, and 2 days away from Release Date realized they still had the rest of the rooster on wait, hired their own 15 years old son to do all the other endings and booked it from the company with his last paycheck.

Me, after I bought T7 in 2019: "Finally. That was hard to avoid all the spoilerd but today I will know how the story continues." **A few days later** Ok, the story mode was pretty cool, maybe a little short but whatever, now let's see the characters' side stories!" **A few hours later** "OH. @ThatGuyWithGlasses We seriously need a remake/redo of the first 2 (or even 3) Tekken games, 'cos Paul was a badass when he was young. He was my go to fighter in the classic trilogy. I tell what would be a nice idea, though: a Tekken prequel. Call it Tekken 0 or something. You could play as young Heihachi, younger Jinpachi, Wang, maybe even Nina and Anna's parents, Christie's grandfather, Jun's father, A Jack predecessor (a human, but basically the robots could be based off him), a previous Yoshimitsu, the Laws' father and grandfather, and Baek's dad etc. I'd even go so far as to throw Leroy in there.

Pretty sure Gigas is gonna be revealed to be Katarina's father/mentor, and also tied to Marduk in some way.

@@JoeNeutrino the fighting styles he uses are Brazilian, as well as sharing some very similar moves with Gigas. Also, someone on reddit claims "In Treasure battle the fake id for an ai Gigas is "Marduk Marduk" but I can't confirm that myself.

You wanna know the saddest part ?! King's story in Tekken 4 and 5 was good even by Tekken standards, Tekken 6 cliffhanger where Marduk digs up Armor King I coffin and both Armor King and King show up was great.

Tekken 7 was extremely low budget and it shows. I expect way better for tekken 8 Why the hell they decided to put so much money into tag 2 and nearly kill the franchise instead of a mainline game ill never know

It is going to Suck for tekken 7 once tekken 8 is made. Makes me wish they put all the dlc guest characters and put them into tekken 8. Imagine wanting to play geese howard and all you have to play in tekken 7 is a dead online cause everyone moved on. And a arcade and treasure battle mode where the AI is dumb to the point it has no challenge. Only reason people would pick up t7 instead of 8 would be if they had people over and they felt nostalgic. Gonna be a sad time for the game. I can still go back to t6 and play a huge arcade and story mode with tons todo there and with way better ai too. Some people wont realize it until a higher budget game comes out and they find out theres no reason to go back to the old game even if you wanted too.

@@nixuniverse5240 exact numbers no, but all you need to know if that bandai pretty much gave up on tekken and tekken 7 was sort of its last chance, and only after its reception did it get more and more budget to cover the season aswell as the tour. But the initial development had to be nothing in terms of tag 2s budget considering the sheer amount of development time and by extension money had togo to making all the shit tag two offered Tekken 7 reuses alot of tag 2 assets aswell. Alot of costumization stuff comes from there, id say most of it is reused stuff. and there was alot more done in tag 2 than just roster. The level of detail, animation and sound work that went into it on top of programing all the other modes on offer is well above the things done for tekken 7, and thats not including the cgi cutscenes that use new assets just for them and not just re using stage assets. Alot of these things start adding upm

(33:37) I love that camera angle on Jack-7's trademark "Piston Gun Assault" intro, not going to lie. King's version of Armor King's "Round Out Elbow" looks pretty good, too. Aside from now being dated because of Marduk and Armor King both being playable in Tekken 8, this ending is actually pretty decent.

Shaheen may have a bland personality, but his design is awesome! They just need to give him more personality and unique moves in Tekken 8.

Tekken 8 - All characters storyline tied together. *Avengers plot*

I hate all the changes of the characters look, they had these looks, especially Asuka and Lily, since Tekken Revolution. I liked the overall looks of characters in TT2 and T6, but in TT2 they had more details ingame looks not in the cgi shorts. In Revolution, they dolled the ladies up. Lookin like barbie dolls.

Someone said that Lucky Chloe might be part of some Japanese mafia/Kazuya. If that’s the case, then it would explain why she beats the shit outta everyone. Also, I was sorta hoping that King would meet with Marduk and Armor King and tell them to make up. Hell, even have some story elements going on. The only things we got from King’s ending is that Marduk and Armor King beat the shit out of each other and both ended up in the hospital, King then wins the tournament to pay for their bills

It's okay, we're here for you, Tekken 7 endings can't hurt you anymore.

Miguel and Steve got good endings, Claudio got decent one, Kuma/Josie was at least funny and MRaven/Dragunov amusing. The rest were either pointless or completely out of touch. I mean if MRaven can slice a rocket in half, why Hwoarang can't kick the grenade back at the soldiers instead of needlesly endangering himself? That would make this ending at least somewhat entertaining, even if devoid of any story.

AT Productions Yeah, but not all of them were cartoony, while Tekken 7 has some “serious” endings; they come off as rushed or flat out parody with very little connection to the story or actual character growth aside from the main campaign ending and probably Hwoarang’s ending
