That part about quitting a game you’re hating is spot on. I had the same thing with Dota 2. Amazing game with brilliant design and mechanics, but after 2000+ hours, I couldn’t take playing another 1-2 hour match where I knew my team was going to lose. I didn’t even enjoy winning matches. The game made me so angry that after a certain point I lost all connection to the game and completely quit. Even though the game helped me develop good on-the-spot decision making skills, I’m glad I quit. Games shouldn’t make you so angry to the point where you can’t communicate with people after a bad match lol. Don’t waste your time on video games that make you angry.

I don't really hate Tekken 8, but playing ranked in this heat-rage-infested landscape is anything but fun. I've finally hit blue and I think I'm quitting ranked for good now.

@@sirnotawholelot7650 I get a lot of games - especially team games - being unfun because of toxic teammates etc., but with tekken I always have fun. yeah I lose but I also win and I dont have to endure anything beyond my own experience. it sounds to me like you dont like being hit by ragearts/heat smashes and losing because of that. I got hit by those a lot back in tekken 7, but nowadays it gets more rare (still get hit sometimes). try to get in the head of your opponent. for most their ragearts are quite predictable and then you can punish them. same goes for heat smashs. lots of ppl out there heat burst and immediately throw their smash afterwards. very predicatable. I could go on, but dont think it'll help you, so ill give just one advice: at the start of a match, try to figure out what kind of guy your opponent is. aggressive? masher? risky? cautious? defensive? knowing what kind of guy your opponent is gives you a hint when he will rage art/heat smash and you can punish him for it. knowing it will also give you huge tells how he will react in certain situations during your match. mashers die to +frames all the time for example

@@Merumya If I couldn't deal with heat and rage I wouldn't have been able to make it where I did while never using them myself (outside of heat engagers which sadly cannot be disabled) since they are cornerstones of the gameplan of 3/4 of the playerbase, but just because I can it doesn't mean I enjoy the gameplay created by them. Forced 50/50s are not fun, especially on repeat. Not being able to even poke because of RA threat is not fun. I still enjoy the game in quickplay because there are no points to tilt me with their very existence regardless of whether I'm winning or losing, but I'm tired as hell from treating the game like a day job for four months with only a worthless Fujin to show for it, and I don't think I'll be returning to ranked.

@@sirnotawholelot7650 that sounds more of a problem of mindset than the game. if you can enjoy it outside of ranked its not the games fault. why even treat it like a day job and pressure yourself into "Fujin isnt good enough"? I'd say you should try playing a different character where you dont give a fuck about the rank. do something silly. bears, yoshi, whatever. play for fun, not for winning. Im playing on and off, too scared to play my main right now since I havent played for a month, so I gave Asuka a try since friday. Im ass, I use maybe 15 moves, combos are trash, punishment nonexistant. but I still have fun. I dont give a damn about what rank I have with asuka, hell, imho I dont deserve the rank where I am with her.

Nope, he used to be calm and just talk about frames and moves. Didn't even flinch despite winning or losing a match. When something cool happened he'd just say "can somebody clip that" and he just kept on playing.
