this was such a fantastic expansion, who ever made this one huge BRAVO for him ! it is just what this game needed to be even more better tiles looks so beautiful, having more options to play the game is always a good thing

Thanks for this. I got my copy on Sunday and immediately took it to my game meetup to play. We enjoyed it, but we did play it wrong - we played where someone had to build a colony on a tile before anyone could trade there. It made sense to us, but from this video, I believe we were incorrect. Our 4 player game did not see many colonies getting built, as there always seemed to be other things we needed that 17 money for. The correct way to play seems like there will be even less incentive to build them, as the colony bonuses seemed insufficient to really draw us to it. The initial placement bonus is nice, but if I can trade somewhere and not grant anyone a bonus, even better.

AI've watched this multiple times but dont understand the Income. What effect do the numbers below blank squares mean? All colony tiles have 7 squares with various numbers below them but only the left three 3 squares have Icons in them. So, in your IO example, I understand player would get 2, 3 or 4 Heat Production for the first 3 steps but... what about the numbers 6, 8, 10 and 12 which have no Heat Production Icon in their squares?? e.g. if a player was able to place his cube in the extreme right, would he get 13 Heat Production? As a Solo player I Liked the base game so much I bought nearly all the expansions. Thanks in advance if you can clarify this for me.

If you trade there, you get both if you have a colony there. If another player trades there, you get the colony bonus. Cheers

At what point do you reveal the colony tiles? Before you've looked at your cards, or after you've picked your corporation and cards? I love this expansion. Every new addition makes the game that much better.

Nice video! I have one additional question: lets consider that i have 2 different blue cards, each one comes with the option to collect microbes on them. If i build a colony on the Enceladus colony tile, i will get 3 microbes as a placement bonus. Do i have to put all the 3 microbes to only 1 selected blue card, or can i distribute them between my two blue cards as it would be the most beneficial at that moment for me? The same question rised inside me in the cases of Titan colony tile's floaters and Miranda colony tile's animal resources. Waiting for your asnwer! :)

I would assume it has to go on a single card based off the fact that every add resource card in the game says "add x resources to A card"

Question: Are you allowed to trade on a colony tile where noone have have build a colony yet? Love the expansion! We've played it a ton already.

First of all, my roommate and I love playing your game. :) Great job!! Two questions though about colony placement and fleet trading. You mentioned colony placement is like a special project. So does that mean a player can only do this once per a generation (up to the ruled limits per colony)? Along the same lines, there is the same red action arrow by the trade fleet cost/movement. I know you can only move a specific trade fleet once per generation. Can you only move ONE trade fleet once per generation even if you have two trade fleets or can you take this action over and over again until you are out of trade fleets for that generation? Obviously they would be separate actions/payments.

Thanks for the encouragement! Building a colony is a standard action, so you can do that several times per generation. And yes, you can move each fleet you have once per generation. Cheers!

Hi, i just got colonies, but i dont own venus yet, and i had dilema wether i should use the floater cards normally or just leave them aside for now since theres only few of them and i am not sure if we would be able to make synergies between them without venus cards. Great video thou. Thx a lot ;)

It's fun to find combos between the expansions, but the Colonies floaters work well on their own. In Colonies there are some Jovian specific floaters, and in Venus some Venus specific floaters.

Thanks for the tutorial! I like your calm voice, the background music was appropriate (and quiet enough), and the animations were very good. However, when you highlight something, I would prefer you circle it instead of making it lighter - making it lighter makes the highlighted thing a bit harder to see. (Alternatively you could darken everything except the highlighted thing, which would also make it pop out better.)

Can you trade more than once per turn? For example, can I visit each of the colony tiles in one generation as long as I pay the trade cost each time?

A tradeship can only go to one colonytile per generation. A colonytile can only have one tradeship on it per generation. All tradeships are returned to the tradeship tile at the end of each generation.

How does it play if you combine it with Venus next and preludium?

Combining Colonies with both Prelude and Venus is a good choice :) Venus and Colonies both have the floater theme, which makes it fun and interesting to combine, even if they are both fully stand-alone on the floater side… in my limited opinion it is a bit lengthy (mostly because I tend to forget about the World Government Terraforming).

We played our first "all-in-game" yesterday and we really enjoyed it, it gives a new twist to the game that really enriches the experience and changes the way you play, forcing you to use new combinations and tactics. I personally always struggled with making Microbes work and most people in my gaming group usually avoided building microbe-heavy card combinations, but with Enceladus in the game and the new promo corporations you really could create some strong combos. But you were right, the game took significantly longer. A 2-player game took us almost 3 hours, even though we used prelude cards and started with all productions on 1 - usually it takes us 90min to 2 hours for a game with 2 people. But it really was worth it, the new Expansion is a great addition to an allready amazin game. The only thing I am not 100% sure about yet is the option to add floaters on Jupiter cards, because it feels way to specific and the chances of getting the few cards that work well together out of a deck that size are rather slim. I have to play a few more games to form a more educated oppinion, but in my first game it felt a bit werid. Maybe if there are more cards with that mechanic in the future to increase your chances of building working combinations, that would make it easier.

So trading awards resourses and not production.

Is trading allowed with a colony tile without having a colony (cube) there?

There are videos for the main game (including Corporate Era and Solo) on my channel. For Hellas&Elysium, Venus Next, and Prelude, I have not felt a great need to produce instructional videos so far, as they are pretty easy to learn
