My 8 year old son got a arrma big rock for Christmas and I took him out to go driving... he says " Dad you wanna try it " I start driving it and he says " Dad ,this is the best day ever " ... Right back to the hobby shop to get another one.. we're not trying to win trophies, but most the time we win smiles and laughs and good time's! I'm really glad you shared your story .

I've been in the hobby 5 years. I want to try and get into racing but it's too much money. I have an sc10.3, Traxxas slash, and an element rc Enduro sendero. Pegasus hobbies is near me and i so want to try 1/10 scale 2wd buggies. 1/8 scale truggies And buggies are too costly for me. Side note: I'm a junior in high school.

AE, TLR, Kyosho etc etc, need a person like you to go out and do what you do on this channel. I like it how you go I drove this .......... car but your more concerned about the RC community and helping and not about the brand. I'm a hardcore AE dude but all power to you and this channel as a learning tool for anybody novice to expert. Well done Ryan hope you enjoy your TLR time period. If you are ever in Australia Ryan come to Bathurst NSW we have a small club were our #1 rule is have fun and support each other to make racing enjoyable.

I'm just getting into the RC Hobby after many many years of being going. I was gone so long that I had no clue to where to even start. The local rc shop/club was so helpful and they all run Losi/TLR. The sponsored TLR guys that attend the local club races are so helpful to the point that I feel like I am bothering them but they are still there helping/mentoring me and I feel truly blessed to be so welcomed.

I have to admit. I was bummed to hear you switched from AE. Because I have learned a lot from your videos. And currently have all AE cars. Unfortunately I dont have the best support in my local area. I have only been racing for about a year and aren't to keen on asking for help when racing. When I do get help the jibber jabber they are saying i dont understand. I couldn't even tell you what I need out of my car currently. I spent about a thousand dollars to build a track in my back yard and am going to work my hardest to learn. You and your videos give me the drive to do so. Thank you and keep the set up info coming and inspiration. Have a Merry Christmas.

I made a lot of my sponsorships in the 80's and 90's were going to club races at different tracks around me. I would race at one track on a Friday night (could be four Friday races in one month at the same track) and knock on the track record or even break it depending on conditions and other factors. I just made sure I was in the top three or four drivers consistently. My motor sponsor later told me that he knew how I did and what I was doing because those tracks would call in a big order of his motors the following week. My dad and I shared the hobby and he raced dragsters so he helped me understand how to setup a car. I didn't always have the best stuff so I relied on my driving to win me a lot of races. I've been back in the hobby for a year now and I'm finally turning lap times that the pro class at my local track are turning, I'm just not as consistent at it as I want to be. I also used to race oval so jumping and learning what the new cars and the equipment can do has been a huge curve for me. A few messages with Spencer has helped me in the setup of my car. I do notice the new TLR is doing really well at my track and I would be tempted to try it if I didn't have the investment in the AE B6.1. I did get some driving lessons last year from Gil Losi Jr., but as far as I know he's no longer affiliated with TLR. I'm not looking for sponsors this time around, I just want to enjoy the hobby and hanging out with people that enjoy it too. I want to perform at my best at whatever my budget can happily support, it's ok with me if that's in the top twenty drivers of the 17.5 stock class. Now that I'm there I'm shooting for the top ten. Ryan, your tire prep and shock bleeding videos have helped me. I also removed glue and rubber from some used rims this weekend. Spencer's vidoe on tire prep is a good one too. Somewhere along the line I came across a video on how to build a differential, sand the rings, and a driver at the track showed me how to break it in with a drill instead of in the car. I also now know how I like the diff tightness to be before ever placing it in the car. Keep up the great videos!

Full disclosure, I’m a TLR guy myself so I’m extra excited about the new direction. I haven't raced another brand than Team Losi / TLR since the mid 90'ies and I will never switch to another brand because I love TLR so much. Man I’m like you. I was 17 years out of the hobby. I came back in learning there is so much I need to learn. Chassis, motors, esc, batteries, chargers, tires, etc. I chose to bring my son in to have fun. After investing thousands to race again I found it so expensive. Even at the club level. With him racing novice and I at 17.5 both AE buggies. Our local track then decided to close. So now we have to travel around 2 hrs just to race. Our program has taken a major decline. We want to race but with cost and travel we just can’t. Then when needing spare parts or wanting better upgrades stuff it’s even harder. I wish you good luck and stay humble my friend. Ryan, I am 53 years old and I got into this hobby in November of 2014. I do have three children who are now adults but they have no interest in the hobby. So your story about your dad was AWESOME. My dad and I fished growing up. Those times were fun and I miss those days. As for you switching to TLR, is fine with me and I understand your point as being a better fit as to the direction you want to go. I myself switched from a buggy to a stadium truck because it is more fun. That was one of your past videos. I love your passion in the hobby, I like your videos. I look forward to them. Thanks for being YOU! Your fan Papo

Yo Ryan, it takes a real man to get on social media and put his pride aside, great things are coming your way trust me. Thanks for being genuine and having a TRUE love for this hobby. And hearing you speak about your father and how you two used to do the best that you could, that right there is what it’s all about the love and the connection between family. Best of luck to you brother…go get em

BACK TO THE ROOTS!!!!! Great vid mate, super stoked for you and your future in the hobby, the tlr cars are looking great for next year, im running some older tlr cars and they suit my driving style, im always open to trying different brands but sometimes local support makes the decision for you. Best of luck with TLR, drivers changing teams is part of the sport. Even the great Mr Kinwald dabbled between AE & TLR. You talking reminded me of when me and my dad use to race. I got back into the sport 12 months ago but he wasn’t up for it this time round something about not wanting to get up early to get to the track lol

Watching your videos is the reason I want to start racing. I decided to go with Tekno. Just started getting some track time in.. but I'm a bit overwhelmed as to going about setting up my car. The local track to me is astroturf and carpet. I watch your videos and definitely feel like I am learning something.. thank you for all you do for the rc world

Wow, what a crazy turn of events for 2020! Well, aside from the Social implications and force for change you hope to make, I hope you find that the current TLR lineup is world's apart from that "TLR" you stepped away from a few years ago, especially with GIl Jr. being more actively involved in Product Development. I'm going to be jumping back into the hobby after almost 20 years. After finding your channel last year and watching your videos (GREAT setup content, BTW!), I was ALMOST ready to pull the trigger on a B6.1D (and would have happily done so, given my long history with AE products), but a few things happened along the way: 1) The TLR 22 5.0 DC ELITE dropped, and aside from the fact that the included parts list was way beyond compelling, the BK commemorative cover car was on point. 2) Horizon announced that Gil Losi Jr. would be taking a more active consulting role with the team! 3) Dakotah Phend pretty much stole the show at the IFMAR 4WD Worlds with the then mysterious new TLR 4WD buggy, which he came oh so close to winning with! These three things had me ordering my first off-road buggy in more than 25 years. I'll be putting my DC ELITE together over the Holiday break with my daughter. I'm looking forward to your setup tips as they apply to the 22, and I hope this means you won't be dropping the SuperCup races from your racing schedule! I was hoping to see you in March at Mills Pond! The Pro-Line announcement comes as a bit of a shock, but hey, if they are on board with your new aspirations, that is pretty awesome.

I am a fan of the channel and although I am an AE guy I think TLR has a phenomenal product and a great history in RC. I think you made a good choice and being an ambassador for RC you are going with the companies that can help you to help others enjoy RC racing more. Good for you Ryan, and keep up with the amazing job with your videos!!!

Ryan, much respect for what you have done for the hobby and for what you are trying to do. That said, just do the best you can and conduct yourself in a way that you can sleep good at night. We understand that you have to explain things because you have a platform, but your decision is yours to make. As long as you are doing good for the hobby, you will always have me for a fan. Love your content no matter what colors you're flying. Btw, your video quality is still very strong.

Hi there. Nice vid. Stick the guts and make it happen! It's really good for the hobby to be friendly and welcoming new and returning people to it. More so, as an overseas follower myself, it digs more into what humble communities all around the world can reach for themselves in order to accomplish some goals in a more organic way so to speak. As far as I can tell, you seem to wish the hobby growing, so it will be nice to see this new venue you'll explore. Greetings from Chile!

I used to be at the track every week 7 or 8 years ago racing club races. I love where your heart is here! And my experiences back then kinda' seemed to mirror. I had been in the hobby racing years before (think RC10 CE timeframe) and had always been die-hard AE. When I got involved again short course was all the rage, and there was a local backyard SC scene that had their own races. Looking at everything I could find online, I went with a Losi XXX-SCT and I've never regretted it. Online support from factory drivers was outstanding, and once the indoor track in San Diego opened there was a lot of feedback from them on that. I didn't see as much of that on the AE side, but I'll be the first to admit that I wasn't hunting hard for it either. But TLR on the forums was just on it. FYI this was the first video from you I'd seen. Showed up randomly in my feed. I'll be checking out more and maybe subbing ;) Keep up the good work!

Hi Ryan, have been your fan for a while. Learned a lot from your videos. Thanks. I have a question. I have never driven TLR buddy, but purchased one 4 years ago (TLR 22 3.0) and never opened it. Just this month, I have dusted it out and started build and at the same time, purchased a TLR 22 5.0. I am still to take them out to drive (Covid constraints). My question is if we can install TLR 22 5.0 DC gear/slipper assembly on TLR 22 3.0 car? Thanks

Good luck with ltr and have fun racing, and keep doing what you love. I'm a sponsored serpent on road touring driver in the UK and don't ever feel pressure to run and be top level at national, and have great support from thrm. Always enjoy club racing and always have time to help other and youngsters even over my own racing would rather help someone who is struggling with setup or repairs and get them racing over myself. Used to be a sponsored TLR on road touring driver some 14 years ago, and if they came back to on road I would consider going back to them for the same reasons. Have a very happy Christmas and successful 2020.
