تجليد الكتب
هي حرفة تراثية، يتم فيها تجليد الكتب بتجميع صفحات الكتاب بين غلافين من الكارتون المغلف بالجلد أو الورق، لحمايته من التلف والمحافظة عليه من التمزق، كما يضيف إليه مظهرًا جماليًا جذابًا وقيمًا، بعد كتابة اسم الكتاب والمؤلف عليه بورق الذهب.
مراحل التجليد:
المرحلة الأولى: خياطة الكتاب، وفيها يتم وضع الكتاب على قاعدة الشدة (وهي عبارة عن قطعة خشبية، يصنعها النجار، مستطيلة الشكل عريضة القاعدة، يتم ربط طرفي الخيط بشكل طولي بين طرفيها السفلي بالعلوي، ليصبح الخيط مربوطًا بشكل طولي، يوضع الكتاب على قاعدتها ثم يتم خرط صفحات الكتاب بالمنشار بعمل 4 فتحات، ليستطيع الحرفي إدخال الإبرة من تلك الفتحات وخياطة الكتاب.
المرحلة الثانية: يقوم الحرفي بفك الشدة وقص الخيط المربوط بالكتاب، ثم يتم لزق بطانة للكتاب بالغراء، بعد ذلك يتم "تدوير" الكتاب بالدقماق بالدق عليه من الخارج، ورش الكتاب بالصبغة بمسدس الرش.
المرحلة الثالثة: وفيها يتم استخدام بعض الآلات اليدوية، يتم قص الكارتون على مقاس الكتاب ليغلفه كليًا فيما بعد بمكينة قص الكارتون.
ويدخل الكتاب في مكينة قص أخرى لتسوية أطرافه، ومكينة دق ليتم تغليفه بدقة بالكارتون، ثم يتم تبطين الكارتون بالجلد أو تبطين أركانه فقط، بفرد الغراء بالفرشاة عليهما ولصقهما وتمرير الإستيك فوقهما لتجنب فراغات الهواء.
المرحلة الرابعة: تسمى مرحلة التزيين، وفيها يتم كتابة اسم الكتاب ومؤلفه وسنة النشر بورق الذهب على كعب الكتاب، إذ يتم وضع الكماز أو المكواه على السبرتاية لتسخينها ثم الضغط بها على ورق الذهب لتثبيته، ويقوم الحرفي بالكتابة بالاختيار من صندوق الحروف الذي يحتوي على الحروف الإنجليزية والعربية والأرقام والرموز المختلفة، ويستخدم المكبس أحيانًا في كبس الكتب التي تحتاج للضغط.
Book binding
It is a traditional craft, in which books are bound by gathering book pages between two cardboard covers coated with leather or paper, to protect it from damage and preserve it from tearing, it also adds an attractive and valuable aesthetic appearance, after writing the book title and author name with gold leaf.
Binding stages:
The first stage: sewing the book, in which the book is placed on the base of tightening (which is a wooden piece, made by the carpenter, rectangular in shape and wide-based, the ends of the thread are tied longitudinally between its lower and upper ends, so that the thread becomes tied longitudinally, the book is placed on the base, then the book pages are cut with a saw to make 4 holes, so the craftsman can insert the needle from those holes and sew the book.
The second stage: the craftsman unscrews the tightening and cuts the thread tied to the book, then the lining of the book is glued with glue, then the book is "rotated" with the hammer by knocking on it from the outside, and the book is sprayed with dye with a spray tool.
The third stage: in which some manual tools are used, the carton is cut to the size of the book to be completely wrapped later with a carton cutting machine.
The book goes through another cutting machine to adjust its edges, and a hammer machine to be precisely wrapped with carton, then the carton is lined with leather or corners lined only, by spreading the glue by brushing on them, gluing them and passing the stick over them to avoid air voids.
The fourth stage: called the decorating stage, in which the book title, book author and year of publication are written in gold leaf on the heel of the book, as the kamaz or iron is placed on the Sparta to heat it and then press it on the gold leaf to install it, the craftsman writes by choosing from the letter box that contains English and Arabic letters, numbers and various symbols, and the piston is sometimes used to press books that need to be pressed.
