The first half of "Off The Wall" is FUNKIER than "Thriller," with the highs being super-high. But the lows on OTW are really low (2nd half). It doesn't work as an ALBUM the way "Thriller" does. "Thriller" was an EVENT, a full-on multimedia project and theatrical "pop music" phenomenon. That's what the OTW people are dismissing. They are two diff'rent levels in Michael's ascent to super-stardom.

Nothing new under the sun. What is, IS. What Has been, HAS BEEN! It is just manifested in different ways. You can make the world a better place and change things of this world but there will always be issues. Ones that must be solved and addressed and others that just have to be accepted for what they are.

I dont think thriller was his best album but it sold the most because the title track's music video was one of the most monumental moments in music history....plus the marketing behind that album was crazy.

Tito is right about Mike doing the moonwalk, when he was younger, i saw it on a black & white video, mike was about maybe 12 or 13 doing the moonwalk, in a Jackson 5 rehearsal. It's on KZread. Jeffrey Daniels of Shalamar would, later teach Mike to enhance the moonwalk. Then Mike popularised it. Tito is an Excellent guitar player, who's very underrated.

I'm glad he mentioned the moonwalk. In Chicago and Northwest Indiana the moonwalk was done 5 years prior and actually got old. There was the backwards moonwalk, the forward moonwalk, the sideways moonwalk and in a circle. Mike's Moonwalks was a nice but I was more impressed when he spun around and stopped on his toes. I was shocked when other parts of the country saw the moonwalk for the first time and it came back out as a popular dance. In fact it wasn't even the first time it was done in the public eye. In the movie Flashdance one of the Rock Steady Crew break dancers did it with an umbrella. Wasn't the best. But it was done. And even then it was an old dance move at that time.
