Megatron can turn into a tank and a jet. Overlord can turn into a tank and a jet. There's a little detail...

It was originally designed for Japan with the idea that you could combine two of them to make "Overlord Tera." Never seen it done before.

This overlord is a good version for people who can't afford carnifex

In base mode, Overlords tower where u put the titan master, with the actual jet mode cockpit window behind there, it reminds me of Emperor Palpatine's throne room in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi where the Emperor watches Luke and Vader fight while the rebel fleet and the imperial fleet are seen killing each other in the back ground

I actually like this Overlord's version. but face it: it's the Overlord of century

1. the takara toy comes with two headmasters to drive both vehicles, so the holes in the chest may be to store the second headmaster and 2. the plane attaching to the chest makes me think of g1 flywheels who I always thought the mold was for.

Five years late, but the Takara version blocks up the holes with engine block looking pieces.

Hi. So the part about the jet connecting to the chest is for Overlord Tetra. A combined form of two Overlord figures. It's from the manga included with the Takara version. Looks a bit goofy in my opinion.

awesome review as always. takara is probably gonna retool this to have the masterforce gimmick(giga/mega), but still can't wait for potp line. I really want an updated primal.

I don’t think the combined vehicle mode is actually a combined mode; I think the combined mode is the jet carrying the tank into battle.

I dig that edit Emgo! So much fun :)

They're called Prime Masters if you can collect them all, you can build your tomb of the Primes to display your Autobot Matrix.

If you have 2 Overlord figures from what I've heard you can combine them to make Overlord Mega

Just saying the reason the front of the jet can plug onto his chest is for a combination with a second overlord toy. The combination is called overlord terra

I think Overlord would make a good tidalwave with slight remoulding.

in transformers the last knight the Cogman toy his head is a head master and they used the same mold of the titan master from titans return

Maybe its just me, but this guy hits me hard as having a very reminiscent color scheme of Generations Doubledealer, the Blitzwing repaint.

I think if Carnifex didn't exist, this Overlord might've been more impressive.

Here's my take on how Overlord should have been done, Two Voyager class robots: Overwrought: a stealth fighter, Deathlord: a tank. Instead of being duocons they are triple changers: robot, vehicle, legs/upper body.

im taking a stab here but with what weve seen from "power of the primes" so far it looks to be a safe bet that hasbro are gonna actually combine this mold with skyshadows to give us a thunderwing down the line. "Armor" is part of that lines motif and would look to involve the kibble chest piece ya demonstrated . whilsts skyshadows jet mode and arms are pretty much TWs already. if they REALLY want to milk the mold i can see em doing a flywheels too. thanks for the re-edit. i really enjoy your videos- particularly the skits at the end. EDIT : Oh and i agree with ya. i much prefer skyshadow. overlord is a nice homage but skyshadow pulls off the mold better. which surprised me as i wasnt gonna get the lad but now everytime i see him on my shelf i think "man im glad i gave in and got him". :D i suppose it doesnt help that ive got an original G1 overlord (european release from back in the day) and i prefer how he looks with the other phase sixers.

Great video, the instructions didn't say how to combine the tank and jet in a single vehicle or the option to put the front part of the jet in Overlord's chest, I see it as an armor mode.

Just got one today and I know carnifex exists (i handled one) but to me this is also really great, one of the best figure of the line, and TR has been pretty killer overall.

The plane nose is for if you get two overlords you can combine them

The thing about Overlord and Skyshadow's Headmasters is that even doe the colors are wrong Overlord's is detailed to look like Mega where was the Powermaster for his tank on the original toy and Skyshadow's headmaster is detailed to look like Gaga which was the Powermaster for Overlord's jet.

I got overlord for $20 a Ollies a couple of months ago. For that price I can't complain about a thing. Although the only thing I care for is the robot mode.

Great video as always while parts swapping you should swap cockpits in jet modes, overlord cockpit on host chest look like star saber, and little combiner of superion I still like Idw overlord figure better hasbro is good for people who can't afford third party

What I find funny is that Emgo called the Prime Masters "Prime Cores" which is a term used in the mobile game Transformers: Earth Wars for the Prime based power cores you can attach to your characters.

How did you know how to combine the tank and jet? I didn't see it at all in the instructions I must be slipping I think the plane cockpit that comes off is maybe a drone Overlord can deploy. I also noticed you can take off the nose of the cockpit also I'm not sure why maybe the coloring and the cones on his shoulders but I think bouncy castle when I look at him

I don't know a lot about the Sky Shadow character. Is he a really big guy? I know Overlord was big, just wondering if these guys are a pretty good scale. I know how Transformers scale is all over the place. I'm mainly collecting Voyager as my leaders as base (Megatron, Optimus, Galvatron, Hot Rod) figures, then guys like Ironhide, Starscream, etc.. as deluxes. I think OverLord could work for what I'm going for, but not sure if Sky Shadow is supposed to be that much bigger if I get the leader version of him?

Westley Cathcart I follow boards on the, seibertron, and tfsource. You can go look on tfsource right now and see his picture in tbe featured section. I'm hoping that his changes have just yet to be released, because why release a better ginrai without stepping up his counter part?
