The only titanium parts I have on my bike so far is one super old ti peg that I forgot who made from my childhood days. It was from a friend. I also have two rnc titanium 3/8 axle nuts inside my front pegs just because. Lol. Gotta start somewhere. I have my eye on a set of four RNC pegs next. I’m going to email them soon to see if they are in stock and will do a little discount for a set of four 🤙🤙

You could also say for not putting the new sprocket going on would need a new chain and new rear driver. I would never run an old chain on a new sprocket cause it will put grooves in your new sprocket.

I hate the wedge design of the Odyssey thunderbolt crank. I was using my buddies bike to go get some parts for my bike and while I was riding the non drive side arm came of and snapped the material that holds the wedge system together. It sucked cause I couldn't fix my buddies bike for two weeks so a new part could come to the local bike shop I went to.

@@Brant_Moore not sure i been out of the bmx game for a while but they can make just about anything out of carbon now a days and make it super reliable. i wouldnt think about getting carbon bars, stems, or forks, but a seat post seems safe even if it did snap, nd usually with carbon it tends to show damage before complete failure. i'd love to see a full carbon bmx bike even tho its not at all practical it would be sick new tech imo.

Right now no. Goal Is ti bike and then regular build will just match the ti bits I used to ride. Ti 22mm spindle. Ti rear axle and driver, or female chromo plus ti bolts for 14mm female set ups that don't have a huge center axle. Ti stem bolts. Ti front hub guts. Ti brake bolts and seat bolts. Alloy spindle bolts cause lighter lol. But I've had ti crank arms 19mm and 22mm. Eastern and the original rnc ti cranks that used primo spindles and pinch bolts from like 2006 or 2008. Ti sprocket. And ridden ti frames my friends have owned. Had a loaner titanium peg for a bit. At one point me a chijoke started bolt tuning our bikes at around the same time. I stopped at seat bolts cause they're annoying af to get out and swap. My seats all had hollow bolts as well. Moxley also had a ti phase. Ti 14mm solid axle and driver. Ti spindle. Ti bolts. Think he murdered them.

You should always use washers, especially if the materials are different. Washers help prevent corrosion when you are using different metals.the washers are the smallest item and corrode before the fastener of the part the fastener goes into. That said you probably check your bike often enough that you would spot a problem before something gets destroyed. Using good clean grease and changing the grease out every year or so will help prevent damage to.

My build plans are dead for my regular build. Well unless profile gets back to me about column cranks. Macneil doesn't have anything shorter then 175mm crank arms. Animal akimbos don't come in chrome anymore and seem to be discontinued. Also now stuck going Laird frame. So if certain shit doesn't work out just skipping it flatland build and then weenie build. But between bars frames and now cranks kinda just getting more annoyed then anything.

Don't need anti seize just use locktite it works by protecting the threads. Also keeps your stuff from coming loose. If not lithium grease is I think next best bet without getting specialty stuff. I tend to just keep the coppaslick from odyssey cranks for ti stuff and use lithium grease on the cranks. Haven't seen anybody regrease em with antiseize when cleaning or swapping bbs so probably overkill for em.

I don't run any Ti, and never have. I'd consider cranks and spindle, though. Would take a 5" Ti peg for the rear, too. Weight's just not an issue given how light bikes are these days. Of course, if these parts were free, that would be different! It'd be cool to have a session on say, BK's bike, from Scotty's channel. I bet that would make me see it in a different light!

Why does everyone always disparage the use of Titanium by saying, "Weight weenie?" Titanium is an incredible metal and you get the best of both worlds, strength and weight reduction. Also, why not use a ratchet with high quality Allen wrench sockets when changing multiple bolts on a bike? I know you're on the "Park Tool team" but it's just looks so clumsy using that multiple Allen key wrench.

Cut some of your seat post down and buy a plastic tennis ball. I recon that'll lose an ounce n half minimum. Further more are you running foldable tyres ( or tires you God dam yank) hahaha. Another big one is pedals. Mtb pedals are metal and more often than not they are lighter than plastic because they can be hollowed out because of their superior strength. They also slide better even with pins, unless what your grinding is wood, then get prepared to kiss the concrete. Not sure if you can tell; I'm a weight weenie. Love brother.
