I remember when I had to give a report on a family member in 5th grade. I chose my relative who died on the Titanic. Mr. Wyckoff van der Hoef. He was the only passenger to board the Titanic twice. First to make a delivery and then as a 1st class passenger. It was a sad ending, but fortunately he lived a good life and was in his 60s. Many died too young.

I truly do hope you guys implement some type of "Escape Mode", where you select the gender and social class of your character, and awake in a cabin pertaining to what social class you chose during the sinking, and attempt to get out alive, along with numerous other NPCs. Well, the whole selecting a gender thing isn't really needed, just a choice of social class would be good enough. EDIT: It would also be nice to add a string orchestra that plays either "Song D'Automne", or "Nearer My God To Thee", on the deck once the ship is upon its final hours, or if the player fails to reach the lifeboats in time, amongst crowds of panicking passengers. I feel this will immensely increase immersion during the sinking, as if we we're really there.

I was thinking exactly the same! For example, If you choose to be a lady traveling on the first class, the scape would be much easier than if you choose to be a male traveling in the third class. Even if this isn't implemented, the game will be great.

That would make the game more interesting, yet slightly scary. I would also like to have options to try to save the other passengers, and to have romance like in the 1997 Titanic movie. Plus, it would be cool if the characters got to do everything that people did on the ship before it sank.

How can people in the 1910s made this lady, the luxury, the elitism the perfection, it showed the world that people were serious in this new century, and then people changed, times changed and we forgot about real luxury, I had the opportunity of staying on a suite on a cruise ship last year, sure it was nice and all but, the craftsmanship is a lost art, and I hope people realise that technology does not replace craftsmanship.

I agree, but alas, blame inflation and the economy, ain't no one can afford the painstaking back breaking labor hand carved wood fixtures requires today, also those craftmen of yesteryear were underpayed and starving because back then there were no labor regulations and minimum wage. Maybe with 3d printers and computer lazer cutting it will come back but don't count on it being carved by hand ever again.

you do realise that there are ships even more luxurious than the titanic these days still but certainly not for the masses. the reason titanic was so luxurious is because they were able to have both rich and poor people on board but all separated and make more money that way. some of the 1st class suites on the titanic cost the equivalent of around 75 thousand one way!!!!!!! can you believe that????? no wonder it was so grand. cruise ships these days you would pay no more than a few grand if that x

The ship was so resplendent and gorgeous that I just kept thinking of how safe I might have felt being on a ship like that...notwithstanding all the talk of it being “unsinkable”. How jarring it must have been to all on board when this ship that seemed to leave no detail overlooked ended up taking so many lives.

2 years later. Astonishing. I used to be obsess with the Titanic since I was 8, to the point I got it banned from my school. I had every book, all the newspaper clipping replicas, models, you name it. This is my inner child complete getting giddy inside. The art direction is second to none, lighting is perfect, materials are perfect, everything looks inevitable, everything looks as though it was always going to be there, and it's realism detracts from the fact that it's CG But that should never take away from the talent of everyone who got input into this amazing project.

This is bringing back memories of exploring the ship in Adventure out of Time, but now seeing what modern rendering technology can do, specifically the Unreal Engine, it's truly a work of art. I know there's going to be a story mode for this, but it will also be cool to have a generic exploring game mode, just like in Adventure out of Time, exploring the ship as it progresses through the day and night cycles.

Watching all these beautiful scenes you almost forget about the disaster as your eyes are soaking in the incredible beauty of the ship. And then the ship slides past that iceberg, and you see the water filling in and destroying all of that incredible beauty....and then you can't help but feel incredibly sad.

Very, VERY nice work. I look forward to seeing more. Nice to see an accurate representation of the iceberg. Due to the moonless night and rare atmospheric conditions, Fleet and Lee didn't see the iceberg, but rather the absence of stars in front of the ship.

I Can't Wait to see passenger interaction, I must say, the only thing missing is the the liquid in the glasses moving with the sway of the ship, or let's say you are at dinner and the only subtle way you can tell the ship hits the Ice is your wine rippling, to which you look up at the other guests and say "Everyone I think we just hit something" of course the blow it off like posh, but its only when a owner of the First Class dining hall has everyone go quiet that he tells everyone, "Their may be ah well slight issue, but nothing to worry about"

Beautiful! It was sad seeing the beautiful sunset.1500 people that night had no idea that was their last sunset. I hope a few enjoyed something we take for granted daily. This is unreal! I mean it is so real! Thank you for all the hard work in recreating this ship. I have been fascinated in the story for many years. Had it not sunk, it’s kind of strange to think they would all be gone now anyway from natural causes or what might have come their way. I guess since I’m 50 now I find time an interesting thing. Half of mine is over. Thank you for sharing.

Incredible you have really shown to everyone why it was such a big deal that all of the interiors would be at the bottom of the ocean! Just incredible. I cannot wait to see if you're allowed on the bridge and maybe interact with the wheel or the thrusters! You never know, though! You guy are one unexpected bunch! So you could probably do more than just that! Again well done and i hope to see boat deck soon :D All the best luck and wishes for you and your game!

You also couldn't move freely in Adventure out of Time, only switch between a series of fixed viewpoints. This is a massive leap forward from that.
