This is the same song that her father was playing on the radio in the beginning scene when he was literally trying to tune her out and ended up crashing the car - causing her injury and the surgery to install titanium plate in her head.

This scene actually made me cry believe it or not. It demonstrates so purely and aesthetically how art, and especially film, can evoke weird and shifting shades of emotion in us. They call books and movies “empathy machines” for a good reason and whenever they can produce something unique and strange in the human arena of feeling + aesthetic I’m often moved to tears by it. Yes, even by weird shit like this.

Its a scene ment to twist sexuality on its head as all the men in this scene are disgusted by adrianas strip dance but they dont know shes a female so they actually have no reason to be put off by the dance as they are the ones who put theirselves in the situation and made Alexia dance.

@@souljacem lmao you just went full english teacher. There's actually zero reference to climate change in this whole movie. This is a major stretch. To me, this feels more like a commentary on gender roles through the lens of contemporary LGBT issues. She's literally a woman disguised as a man. Perhaps the director here is the societal disgust at the merging of feminine and masculine identities.

@@edanashkenazi2189 the car concept is among other things a clear allegory to climate change. i don‘t think there is anything to debate about that. perhaps i stretched it to far with the fire truck‘s meaning, but i don‘t think so. why do you think they are literally firefighters? it‘s definetly symbolic for taming the fire of rage. but there is more to it than that. i‘m not suggesting any one dimensional analysis, the movie‘s too sophisticated for that. that‘s why i said „for example“. climate change is certainly not the movie‘s main topic and it shouldn‘t be regarded as that, cause that‘d be preachy and annoying. but i thought of it and wanted to deconstruct this scene from that lens, because i already did deconstruct it from other lenses.
