Did you know that the automatic version has plastic in the mechanism and designed to not be serviceable just a throwaway and that is the reason why I would not buy the watch
I actually like the cleaner simple face of the quartz version over the automatic. Simple and clean
@damma2

yeh i tried out both and got hooked on the automatic's look.
Surprised not many people talk about the white face. That is pure class imo. On the quartz, it looks like more like a silver face and its insane how beautiful it is under any light
I bought quartz version as my first watch a week ago. Couldn’t be happier. The automatic has indeed a more “alive” feel to it, but I like the clean look more. I don’t think I would find nicer watch for this price.
Currently wearing the powermatic 80 in blue, no regrets, a beauty, my signature piece ❤️
I purchased the new 35mm PRX, quartz version, just over a week ago, & it's never been of my wrist since. I absolutely love everything about it, the styling, the size, the quality of the watch, the intergrated bracelet. A stunning piece to add to anyone's collection.

The only thing that made me choose the automatic version was the dial. I'm not a huge fan of flat sunburst dials, so I went with the Powermatic 80 with the blue waffle dial. It's an amazing watch if you recall that it only costs somewhere around 600-650€. The accuracy is very good too at +2.4 seconds per day in my case.

Wearing my Seiko Alpinist in green and gold...love this watch!
Just picked up the automatic today in the blue, absolutely love it!
I've got the 35mm PRX quartz. I chose this version because it is way more practical (and the price helps of course). The only I do prefer about the automatic version is the dial, it is really nice!

I purchased the Tissot PRX 40 205 Quartz in Blue Suneay Brushed dial love it i decided to buy the Tissot PRX 40 Powermatic 80 Blue dial tried it on didn't like the waffle dial. Great video.
Just bought my powermatic today. Looks amazing with the dark green dial. Feels and fits amazingly as well. I feel safer knowing I don’t have to take it apart to change the battery
Love both, although yet to try on the wrist! Drawn to the auto, but there is always room for a few quartz pieces in the collection. In fact wearing a Marathon General purpose quartz at the moment 👌. However, if I had to choose one it would be the auto with the deep forest green dial. It’s on my shortlist and CH Silverburn is just down the road 😉
Nice review! I loved the Mustang analogy, even though I own a V8 and think the Mach E is hideous I still went out and bought the quartz PRX....probably would have gone for the automatic but I'm not a fan of "waffle" dials. The young man working behind the counter in the jewellers shop I bought it from congratulated me on my choice as he was wearing one as well! On the wrist at the moment..Rado Ceramica XL.
Amazing video. I love the intro music. It's so 70's😍😍
On my wrist: Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 just bought today, in love with it!
Auto for me. Love the rose gold bezel and white dial the most. Love the entire watch except the clasp is just a bit lazy although it does look remarkable when it's on wrist.
I will be buying a PRX Automatic. I’m wearing the same Omega Seamaster 300M that you’re wearing, Harrison. Though, I am wearing it with my black Omega silicone band. It is much more comfortable with the band than with the bracelet. I just subscribed because your name is Harrison. That is my first grandson’s name….😂 Actually - Your presentation has grown on me. Keep up the great content! ✌🏻
Great video. excellent presentation and information on the Tissot PRX quartz and automatic I myself have the Tissot PRX 40 205 Quartz Blue Dial alot of watch from history to craftsmanship to quality from this watch and Tissot. I own a lot of automatics and one quartz this one just put it on the wrist and go. Plus the dial on the prx quartz is amazing 😍 brushed blue black grey dial depends on the light angle same with the bracelet 😍 reminds me more of a Rolex Oyster Quartz. thank you for the high quality video.
Auto for me. The texture waffle dial really makes this pop.
I originally thought I’d get the waffle dial version since I thought it looked better in these videos but then when I visited my retailers and saw both versions in person man, I went with the quartz dark green dial PRX
Agree with everything you said buddy. I'll go with the quartz. Cheaper, better looking, good quality.

On the wrist today is the G-Shock GA-B2100. Great comparison between these two options, weighing this up for a while and they both look great but I’m leaning more toward the quartz, more to do with the whole life cost, cheaper to buy, cheaper to service (just change the battery) plus, the quartz model is more in keeping with the original from the late 70’s. My thoughts exactly about the homage to its own brand rather than homage to you know who with waffle face. Same with the ease of service and the fact it'll be ticking when you pick it up. no winding no setting. Quartz for me.
Thanks for this video! This helped me in my decision of which model to buy.
Garmin s62 golf watch is on the wrist for me mate🏌The PRX is class! I'm looking at them now for an everyday dress watch.
I choose the quartz because I already have a ton of automatics, including a non-PRX Powermatic 80 watch, and while I love automatics, I'm running out of winders and patience to keep them wound so I can use them anytime. The quarts looks pretty close to the Powermatic version, is a more accurate homage to the 1970s Tissot Seastar since that was a quarts as well, and to top it off, it's ready to go without any fiddling no matter how long it's been in the drawer.
Picked up the green PRX Powermatic. It's a fine timepiece
Very good, informative & interesting review. I'am saving to buy the Quartz model in 35mm.
I have had my eye on this watch for a while. For some reason I want to go with the all gold tone quartz to go full 70's vibe.

Hello Chisholm, great video, I enjoy watching your videos. What do you think about the T-Race Moto GP 2018 Special Edition?
I love the 35mm size but that waffle dial on the automatic version look so much more refined
I'd love to get a 35 PRX 80 Powermatic with a light blue waffle dial. Get your act together Tissot!

Im not crazy about quartz watches. Im currently an automatic Seiko guy myself, but that automatic is sweet. I'm buying that Tissot Automatic.
The clean dial and the dial of the quartz version emphasize the 70's look of the watch and stick more to the original model
hi there... I already have the Tissot gentleman powermatic in blue dial... you think is worth to buy one of these...thinking even about the gold version or you think es better to spend in another type of watch for more or less the same amount of money.. thanks
Currently wearing my seiko 5 sports blue its my first watch and i am very fond of it looking to get either a bulova lunar pilot next or the tissot prx not sure which to go with though
Killer intro to this line up 🌋
If you are not sure which to buy because of the price, stop waiting and go for quartz. The dial is beautiful and tasteful, as is everything else about the watch. Having it on my wrist I would almost say that I like the dark blue sunburst better than any other color variation of the PRX, quartz or automatic. One caveat, mine doesn't hit exactly on the second markers, though it's close. It is hard to notice unless you stare at the end of the second hand, but it's there.
Just ordered the Quartz PRX w/blue dial. Wrist check; Timex TW2U11600. Cheers!
Wrist check, Tissot PRX Automatic (love it)
Great video pal 👌👍
The blue quartz surprised me how good it looked in person....gave the automatic a run for the money, which is the one I had my heart set on. Then I saw the blue automatic and new I had to have it. A great watch! Looks beutiful and I know I've had a few bad days at work were putting it on has cheered me up! Wearing my Citizen Promaster Aqualand Dive watch with green and black bezel today. A tough watch...Great to wear when I don't want to risk the PRX getting scratched up.
Thumbs up for the 80‘s vibes at the beginning👍😁
Tissot T660 With the black dial on my wrist, what do you think about it?
I am wearing a timex automatic, power reserve, it has a seagull movement. I had it serviced and regulated now it runs within +-10 seconds a day.

Wrist check Grand Seiko SGBX335 9F diver. Going to get the quartz PRX so I can grab and go
I was about to whip out my charizard when I heard the intro music. Felt like a Pokémon battle
What a nice suiting Intro! Instant like
I do like the powermatic 80. That waffle dial is beautiful and the back is lovely. Rocking the Hamilton Khaki Pilot Pioneer (bronze) today. Every time I wear it I feel I need to find my flying goggles :D
I think the prx chrono is beautiful. But hands down the quartz is the better looking when compared to the automatic, strangely enough
You say that the Quartz Revoloution replaced a lot of automatic watches. My recollection of that time is that manual wind watches were still very much a thing back then. Especially at the lower end of the market. In 1981 went straight from a swiss manual wind to a Japanese quartz watch and was amazed by its accuracy and durability. It wasn't 'technically' more accurate it was demonstrably more accurate than any automatic or manual wind watch I have ever worn.
Excellent comparison.

Why quartz minute hand always doesn't align with second hand when hit the 60 seconds? Movement issue? Or user doesn't bother to adjust correctly
Love the freaking introoooo. Best one ever
What an amazing watch!
Currently wearing a Rotary Regent Automatic, 40mm case, integrated bracelet, but saving for a CW C60 Pro 300 Bronze
Black dial Omega Aqua Terra with the 2500 movement, the first one with a co-axial escapement.
Probably a hot take, but I’m not really a fan of waffle dial. If they made an automatic not in a waffle dial I’d be in. On the wrist is the Glycine GL0327 Combat Sub.
I was gonna get the prx but I saw a Citizen Corso 2 tone diamond on sale almost $200 off so I got that and pan on getting the powermatic later
My experience with NKUWAN was fantastic. The watch arrived quickly and was exactly as described.
The quartz model has a battery that has to be replace somewhere between 3 and 5 years. How often does the automatic model have to be serviced, and how much does that cost?
I want to buy one of those Two to my 21 Year Old Son currently in the Law School. What do you think, the Quartz or Automatic? Thank you for the help. 🤗
I will always prefer the automatic especially the waffle dial 🤩 ... but for the quartz dial there is a full gold 35mm or 40mm PRX looks super classy at super affordable price compare to the Vacheron Constantin 222 🤣

Great video, also like your all saints shirts 😅 any idea what the name of the shirt is?
lovely watches, but have read that the automatic is problematic with adjustments but easy it's manufactured and operates
something else to consider is when historical models see re-releases, which one of the two is closest to the original watch, aka the seastar
