Tire Pressure Sensor Fault Reset F150
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
This is a how to video for solving a Tire Pressure Sensor Fault (TPMS) on a 2015 F150. I show how to relearn and reset the TPMS using a tire pressure gauge and compressor to air back up. I also highlight the results of finding a bad TPMS sensor in one wheel.

Jacob's Upgrades, thank you very much for info. I had my passenger rear tire give me the warning right before I was going to drive 380 miles. I trained each tire monitor, and all is good now (single honks) :). I do wonder though, My F150 is 2015 Platinum and wondering if I should just get all four sensors. I think I'll just put the sensors under "mind monitoring" and if I get a second warning, replace all four sensors. Thanks again! Nice job!

It's good you caught this before your road trip! Sometimes they need to be re-trained from time to time but I wouldn't worry about replacing them unless it continues to be a problem and yes I would do all 4 at once.
I have a 2009 Ford Lariat and had no idea if this would work and surprisingly it did, thank you so much for the video.

Just performed this due to an intermittent sensor fault going off and on the last few days. Had the tires rotated and the sensor fault was in the same position after the rotation (scratching head?). Just performed your instructions and all gave a single honk. Aired back up and gonna hope this solved my issue! Thanks for the video!

@CarnagelsILL, I'm glad my video helped you out! If you continue to get the same fault on the same wheel try scanning for trouble codes. It could be Body Control Module related, I'm chasing this problem down with my truck.

The reason is your battery for the sensor is getting old and may need to be replaced soon. New sensor will do it right away and old one will take a while to honk. This is how you know you will need to replace the sensor in the near future as the battery is dying.
This good video. I do think it’s a good idea to do all of them at the same time. If one goes. It may be one fight after the other. My TPMS code just set. I think the battery is bad in the left front.

Thx, this was short and to the point. I think it's sad that now it'll cost you and me almost $500 dollars to have all four sensors replaced. I wish they didn't install these on my 2015 F150. I know you can buy tools that break the tire bead and replace the sensors, but you need another tool to recalibrate for the final steps. Many Thanks.

@markseifried3959, I know it's a bummer having them replaced. I tried to time it when I was having new tires installed. I'm still dealing with a bad sensor after having them replaced. Not sure if one was bad from new or it's my Body Control Module. I could be wrong but I think all new vehicles are required to have TPMS sensors for safety reasons.

@DirtyFastingLife, sensors usually run $80 a piece per tire plus labor to install them.
I’m at a loss. I got a 2018 F150 STX 4x4. Just put some new rims and tires with new sensors. I have the TPMS 19 sensor tool. I can get the truck into learning mode. But then I can’t get the truck to pick up the sensor. I’ve used the tool, I’ve also tried letting air out and nothing.
@jacobsupgrades
Жыл бұрын
@cmendr011, I wonder if the new sensors are the wrong frequency and the truck is not picking it up. They need to run at 315 MHZ frequency.

@@jacobsupgrades Great video thanks dude. I got a 2015. Oh two weeks ago I was driving down the road heard the ding ding look down at my dash both front tires were showing lines. I've already had one of the sensors go out and I had it replaced. This is just odd I'll try resetting and keep you posted. The other weird thing I had A couple weeks ago was the top track holding my rear slider in place completely separated from the inside of the window. If you have that issue need primer for the plastic track so that the polyurethane can adhere to it properly.

@@stellarcreations7378 I hope my video helps solve your problem! Thanks for the comment. I have a video coming soon on repairing my sliding window. I used 2 layers of this 3m acrylic tape amzn.to/3QmsNOq I used 80/20 aluminum extrusion and clamps through the open window to let the tape set. It's held up for a month we will see long term.
Wow! What a great video. I have a 2016 F150 and need to go thru this same proces. But after going thru the process, if I do find a bad sensor (double honk), if I can't replace it myself easily, I will go without, I'll tell you why. I don't need a sensor to tell me my tire pressure is low. I've grown up with nobody telling me to check my tire pressure. It's inherently automatic. You own a vehicle, check the pressure. Have we grown up in society and lost all common sense? I know, there's a sensor to tell you to change your dirty oil. Do we really wait for a sensor to tell us to change the motor oil, or be smart about it and keep a small notebook on oil changes in the glove box, and keep track youirself? When does it end where there's a sensor built into your underwear band to tell you when to pee? We're supposed to be smarter with each generation of people born, yet the engineers treat you like you're totally stupid. Well, the jokes on them because they can't even design a sensor without it growing faulty before the vehicle is no longer usable. THUMBS UP!!!

@lostinmyspace4910, I agree these sensors are a pain to deal with. Even after having all 4 of mine replaced I'm still getting the sensor fault message. I'm still trying to resolve this but I think it may be due to a bad Body Control Module or a bad sensor installed. Keep in mind if you just ignore these you'll constantly get the TPMS sensor fault message popping up on your screen.
Will this work on a 2013?
@jacobsupgrades

Yes, it should be the same process for any Ford 2011-2021
Does this work if I get new rims with TPMs?
@jacobsupgrades
Ай бұрын
Yes, as long as they are the correct frequency. Also assuming there's nothing wrong with the body control module. I got new wheels and tires with TPMS and still can't get the back passenger to program. I'm also having other issues with the outside ambient temp being way off making me think it's the Body Control Module.

Yes, it usually shows up blank or -- doing this reset method should help with reprogramming, if not it could be a bad TPMS sensor.

@samuelluque9961, It's possible you have a bad TPMS sensor in that tire. I recently had all 4 of mine replace and still get TPMS sensor faults popping up, only on my rear passenger tire. I now think its the Body Control Module (BCM) that is causing this issue on my truck. You could have a similar problem going on.
Didn't worked for ford endeavour india

Were you getting a double honk or would it not initiate the programming?
I went to do my right tire and i let air out. It never made a noise so i looked in the truck and it was giving me a reading of 41. So i went back to the tire let a lil more air out then it hinket twice but is still giving me a reading of 41. So idk if its a true reading or not lmao
