▶ABOUT NAMI NO KURASHI
I'm Nami, an office worker living alone in Tokyo.
The Japanese pronunciation "Nami" has several meanings.
One Nami is a girl's name, and the other Nami means ordinary.
Naminokurashi(Nami's life) is a combination of these two meanings.
Kurashi means daily life.
I don't have any special skills. My life is ordinary days.
I hope you enjoy my ordinary days!

I just found this vlog this week. I've been dealing with my lack of self-care, and what I really love about Nami is that she takes such special care of herself in little things, whether or not she is seeing anyone. You don't need to wait for a man to have a full life. She makes dinner look like a great meal, and it's OK if "it's just me".

Hi Nami 💜 if you want I can give you a few advice : as an Italian cook , I made pasta by myself since I was a baby , I suggest you to use just 100 g flour for each egg you want to use, no salt or oil , you just need this 2 ingredients . Important is to make sure your pasta dough don’t dry while resting ( at least it need 10 minutes ) so put it under a humid towel or in plastic bag. After that your pasta will be ready to use as you want, adding flour as needed while working it. You’ll add the salt only on the cooking water and it will be delicious 👩🏼‍🍳🥰 lot of love from Bologna, Italy ❤️❤️❤️

Can you make pasta without the machine and get a great tasty pasta or is it a waste of time to roll it yourself?

@@tightfitrightfit you can hand roll it, our great-Nonna’s did and they had the arm muscles to show for it! But it is hard to get it thin enough before it drys out. And it’s hard work!😉 The other thing about a machine is that they come with blades as well as rollers. This allows you to cut fettuccine/linguine/spaghetti in nice equal sizes.

Nami is endlessly entertaining while doing just day-to-day things, like organizing her fridge. It’s because she does all these things so well! Several things Japan has that are not easily found in the U.S. - cook pots with detachable handles, the “fish oven” under the cook top, and fridges with drawer fronts instead of one big door. I think the 100 yen stores beat our dollar stores - it’s amazing the variety of things she gets there. A good title for Nami’s channel might be “Gracious Solo Living”. She certainly demonstrates that!

A little tip from an italian here: we tend to put 1 egg per 100g of flours, and from the colour of your pasta dough, I can tell that there's too much egg. Also, it's better if you roll it a lot thinner, thus it cooks better and it will have a nicer consistency to the palate! But you did a great job as always! Also try to put a splash of milk, instead of cream, in the pureed potatoes and smash them in the cooking pot already so they get creamy fast. In italy we keep cooking the puree instead of smashing the potatoes in a separate bowl and add the ingredients in the bowl. Love you! Have a nice weekend :)

If you add a little bit of baking soda to your cooked tomatoes it will help neutralize their acid. This will make them taste sweeter and it will prevent your added milk or cream from curdling. Also, you might want to buy some of the food-safe silica gel packs to add to any of your containers that have powdered contents in your refrigerator. They are the little packets that come in things like tea or candy. They will help keep a stable humidity and keep things from clumping or sticking together. Keep up the wonderful videos!

Such a pleasure to watch ☺️. I too feel a sense of well-being if I know that my pantry and fridge are well stocked. I’ve always felt that way but the Covid lockdown was scary because I went weeks without being able to buy any groceries, so now I always make sure I have plenty of dry goods and things that have a long expiry date…just in case of the zombie apocalypse (or something like that) 😁🧡🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Yes, we are living in unpredictable times now. Media are always fearmongering, but apparently there are going to be delivery driver strikes in UK. That means certain goods in supermarkets running short. I too ran short in lockdown as I did not drive and could not get a delivery. I would say buy lots of pulses, tinned and dry goods and get familiar with what you can make with them. Grow herbs and spices even if you have not got garden, they flourish grown in large pots 😊 I have only just discovered this channel. I love how calm she is in the video and everything is done with great care.😊

Hey Nami-san, I really like your pans. They're so handy having removable handles 👍They take little space and you can cook up a storm with them. So nice to rearrange the furniture around in the apartment. It gives the space a new look. If you add a mirror to one of the walls, the room will feel bigger. Have you ever tried making crepes? It can be eaten all year round. Yummy! Lovely, healthy cats 🐾 thanks for sharing 😊

Bom dia! Tempere a gosto. Desculpe a intromissao. Esperando o proximo episodio enquanto vou assistindo os videos antigos.

Some tips & ideas from overseas....red potatoes are the best roasted! Scrub potato(leave skin on) cut up in cubes and put in a bowl. Drizzle olive oil over potatoes just enough to coat them. Season with salt & pepper or whatever you like. Toss them around in the bowl then s spread out on a baking sheet. Bake at at 190 Celsius (375 Fahrenheit).
