Thank you ! I have a base lancer with evo x turbo , using a custom downpipe , basically the heatshield near the downpipe can’t be secure properly since the downpipe is custom , and it’s rattling like crazy , and I finally found out where it was .

PB blaster is key and patience when removing any bolts. Broke one on my ETS open dump install, pain in the ass.

Cheers man, stock turbo so i aint gonna bother doing downpipe. Did exhaust manifold which was very tricky

Great how to. If you’re going to be doing this job do yourself a favor and get a right angle impact. It will help tremendously. Proper tools go a loooong way

Thank you for the clear explanation of this, how is it removing the down pipe with the spring bolts? I have 20,000 miles on my Evo X and I’m wanting to install the COBB down pipe and hi flow cat.

Urs should.be pretty easy. I took off my stock down pipenwhich had 79k miles. Sprayed some wd30 and it came off no.problem. had to use a lot of strength to get them loosened tho. Lol

Just removed the two spring bolts on mine. Ended up using a ramp as it was too hard with jacks on my drive. Took a fair bit of strength to remove!

I’m never going to work on a Evo x with an oem downpipe again 😂. No wonder why he needed a beer!! 😂😂😂

did you remove that stud nut from the top or bottom of driver side?

What did you used to remove the stud from the driver side?

You probably found out already but that 1 piece Invidia pipe will not work with that downpipe, you need a testpipe and not a 1 piece dp/tp

You’ve never changed your own clutch with out a trans jack 😅
