Tips for Opening a new Pool the First Time & Testing a Cleaning Robot

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Pool companies charge $400 or more just to open your pool! I do it myself for about $20 - it's easy if you know a few steps. I use the least amount of chemicals & get crystal clear pool water all summer long. I also got a chance to try out the newest & most innovative pool cleaning robot called Aquasense Beatbot
Pool Test Strips: amzn.to/3KcjwFU
Beatbot: amzn.to/3yxkt9n
Beatbot Aquasense Pro: amzn.to/4e7rnCG
BeatBot Specs:

Powerful wall cleaning capabilities with a brushless main-pump motor delivering up to 5500 GPH suction. industry-exclusive Smart Return and Surface Parking for ultimate convenience.

Beatbot provided me with the robot shown in this video at no charge. Nothing was scripted, or required other than an honest review. And no, Beatbot sadly did not pay for this swimming pool!

    How about making a video about how to "close" a pool at the end of the summer pool season? To prepare the pool for winter, and for the many idle months until the following summer's pool season?

    @@SilverCymbal : Great! However, I assume you'd prefer to make that video months from now when you close your pool, to show how you do it. Unfortunately some of your viewers may need to finalize their pool closing arrangements before then. So, perhaps you could make a video soon in which you discuss what will need to be done (and follow it up months from now with the video that shows how you do it).

    I just keep our pool running 365 days a year. Over the winter the Hayward control panel is smart enough to keep the pump running to avoid freezing. I keep the chems balanced once a month over the winter as well. We have a salt cell chlorinating system and it produces all the chlorine we need when it's above 50F. It's never seen algae because it's always operational.

    My third season with a pool. Recently caught on to using bleach. Previously used cal-hypo, which is a bit of work and not any cheaper. Just pour slowly in the deep over a jet. This year, trying a low level of trichlor + bleach. Trichlor pushes the pH down while bleach pushes it up. Hoping to keep an easy balance with tri providing low level of chlorine and CYA with the bleach to shock and maintain. I use bleach in my hot tub too with bromine. Gotta keep the CYA in check!

It takes me all of 15 minutes to hand vacuum my 12,000 ga. pool and I get to enjoy the fresh air and get some vitamin D from the sun. Plus my hand vacuuming beats the results of all the pool robots I've owned.

    What are your thoughts on a salt water pool?

  • @SilverCymbal

    @SilverCymbal

    Ай бұрын

    This pool and my last were both salt water pools. 100% worth it for above or in-ground. They don't save you money, they cost about 15% more overall but they do two key things. The almost eliminate you adding chlorine regualry, and this translates into your water being much more stable. Problem for most pool owners is they just forget, then the water gets out of wack. They buy 10 things make the problem worse and eventually it gets corrected. Salt eliminates this. The stuff about the salt being better to swim in, smell different, etc are all myths. The stability and less weekly work is why I like them.
