Great tip on stacking recruit rank buffs in the same province! I personally find temporary camps to be much more valuable than stacking high tier camps at home. No attrition, upkeep reduction that overpays the camp cost, and meat buffs are great for painting the map. Just move, place camp near the end of movement, transfer units into camp for reduced upkeep, end turn, destroy camp, and then repeat. Mini tips for those temporary camps: you can destroy the default barracks that comes with them for an extra 300gold over the end turn. You can also disband the extra units that come with the camps to save on upkeep.

true. and i do keep camp slots open to do this. however, i wouldn't do this with more than 2 camps at any given time. the likelihood of you having more than 2 fronts open at a time are also low. since the realm of chaos campaign doesn't really reward aggressive expansion. usually, i just keep 1 camp slot open for conquest. I would also keep in mind that a tier 5 camp gives a 12% *factionwide* buff to all non-camp building income. so having permament, safe, camps built in your own territory early, will help increase your income immensely in the late game. 4 camps in the 4 regions of greasus' starting province is 48% extra non-camp building income, for example. and each tier 5 camp can have the tier 5 loot pile building which is an additional 1400 income (with techs).

@@bomjus1706 yeah I actually did not know about the factionwide income buff until today 😄 in the late game, the 1000g income building + 12% non-camp building income buff easily outstrips the upkeep savings from temporary camps. Adjusted my strategy today! Thanks for the tip 😄

ONE THING I FORGOT!!!! if you raid the region a camp is in, it will give the camp an extra 10 growth a turn. this is HUGE early game cause it means a level 1 camp can be making 30 growth a turn. you can hire a 2nd lord to do this, or do it with greasus/skrag. since ogre regions make so little money anyway, you barely lose any income doing this. it's important to level up a camp early game to get to tier 3 to unlock ironguts/gorgers for skrag/greasus.

This is a great video and really helped me learn how camps work for Ogres. Thank you! That said.... for these videos you need to try to tone down the random scrolling around the map while you're talking!

I had to turn up the volue A LOT for my satisfactory level. Great video and tips. I recommend for the next to reduce the game volume significantly relative to your own voice track, since sometimes the selection feedback drowns out your voice. Also video sections would be nice.

What really should have been done with camps was to make them akin to Dark Elves Black Arks in that, you can move them around in an encampment stance. I mean.. Great, camps give us 12% income from all non-camps, we get tier 9 units... but half the damn reason for those camps is for meat, for post-battle loot, for replenishment and attrition immunity. Encampment stance to move. Camp Stance to give sphere of influence. Camps would feel so much better like that. I don't know why they didn't do this :3.

How do you set that coop trick up? Only the faction leader seems to be able to travel through the portals.

My issue with OK is the meat upkeep, really stumps you early game, having to sit waiting for it to basically be over 200..

well ogre kingdoms are really good at building tall. so sitting around isn't such a bad thing. and unlike other factions, at least when you're sitting around you can put your army into a camp for reduced upkeep. once you unlock a 2nd a camp you could go for more aggressive expansion and destroy/place the camp as you move. you can have a 2nd camp as early as turn 18/19.

How do you Confederate ogre's quickly?? im on turn 126 and have yet to confederate.

in my experience, as both skrag and greasus, both legendary lords are too strong for you to confederate most of the time. this campaign i stopped at turn ~155 and i was still unable to confederate skrag. skrag is basically uncontested in the south because he is surrounded by minor factions and usually bulldozes the empire. greasus is surrounded by friendly ogres who he can ally with. also his main enemy usually ends up being cathay (from what i've seen/experienced). cathay is usually busy with other ogres, tzeentch, and the bastion. so for either of them to be weak enough to confederate is very rare. if there is some secret technique to quickly cheese confederate skrag/greasus, i do not know it, sorry!

my camp was attacked and the army inside the camp does not replenish, is it a bug?

as another user pointed out, that does seem to be a bug. if you desperately need to replenish that army, you can hire a lord at the camp and pull the army out with the lord and they will heal. if the camp is in your own territory, they should heal normally.

if you mean towers built during minor settlement battles, i usually build the cannon towers. their range is good, the projectiles can hit multiple infantry, and i believe they are half the cost of the "best" tower? 900 supply compared to 2000? so i can spend that other supply on stuff like barricades for weakening the enemy's melee attack and speed. im not a settlement battle genius though, so feel free to test stuff out and see what works best!

I didn't see a garrison in the camp. How the heck do you defend them other than leaving an army there?

what i usually do is leave an army in one of the camps with a lord standing near it. if an enemy starts approaching, i'll use the lord to grab the army, and then put him in ambush stance at wherever the enemy is approaching from.

yup my following videos i lowered the in game voice volume so that when i click on a lord it doesn't overpower me talking.

sorry, it's just a nervous tick i get when im trying to get my ideas together in my head to say lol. if i do another tips n tricks video (mabye when the ogre DLC drops) i'll keep this in mind.

I think keeping 1 camp for moving through enemy territory is ok.

yup that's what i usually do as well. i only keep 2 slots open if i'm pushing 2 separate fronts at a time. but that's usually extremely rare.

Thanks for the tips! I just started a greasus campaign and learnt the hard way about demolishing camps and losing all the buildings lol. I'll definitely try your way of building them at home! Also, no need to apologise at the end of the video, I found your points easy enough to follow and you have a nice calm demeanour about you. Keep it up! My only tip for you would be to lower the game sounds because everytime you clicked on a building, the ogre voices were louder than yours so it was hard to hear what you said :) Anyway, thanks again!

yeah i could understand the speech in game being louder than my voice, but for some reason it's not only louder, but it's like my voice gets equalized down. that's not part of my OBS filters so maybe some audio shenanigans on youtube's end. either way, i lowered my speech volume in game after watching through this myself lol. thank you!
