    Wow! So excited to find you!! I have a luxury picnic business but am going at it a little different…more like a small scale “boutique” rental service. QUESTION: Where do you subrent glasses from?? I assume there are other things that can be sub rented!? This is very interesting &, to me, a great way to get started (vs. having to immediately PURCHASE all those glasses)… hope you see my question!! Following you now!

    Really appreciate you sharing your progress. A lot of businesses are negative about self pickups but they are very scalable without staff. The trick is to make sure people don't damage the gear whilst transporting it. I just got a commercial grade 10x20 pop-up which is good but here in Oz people want the bigger ones so the 20x20 high peak is more popular despite being a lot more expensive. It's interesting you mention glassware. People ask me for it all the time but I don't want to do it. The same with hot water urns.

    Why did you get the video game chairs instead of spending that money on more tents? Have you saturated your local market and have to diversify your product offering to expand? Thanks man! Great video

    I’m working on having a well rounded business with unique offerings. Not just tents. There is also a seasonal balance that has to be acquired. The video game chairs is just a unique offering that currently rents out during grad and Christmas only. The chairs have paid for themselves so it’s no sweat having them. Regarding tents: I already have more tents than my small staff can handle going up and down every week. I have to build up the team members and vehicles to sustain taking on any more tent work weekly. As soon as I have enough winter work to keep full time staff year round then I can I still more long term processes into my staff and increase amount of team to handle more tents. It will all come in time. I will continue to reinvest in all avenues.

    What brand are the higher quality pop up tents?

  • @therentalguy

    @therentalguy

    Euramax, Impact, SES, basically any tent that has aluminum octagon legs, metal fittings and a high quality top. A good 10x20 will run you about $1000.00 give or take.

    How often do you get people trying to negotiate prices? especially when they rent multiple things from you. Do you give out deals? OR do you stick to your guns on prices no matter how much they rent?

  • @therentalguy

    @therentalguy

    Жыл бұрын

    People ask for deals all the time when I was marketing on facebook and classifieds a lot more. With the website it attracts a different type of crowd. There are the people who know what they want and know it’s non negotiable from the feel of the website. There will always be a lot of charities, church groups, etc that will ask for a discount and I always give 10% off for those types because they will always go with the lowest price. However don’t waiver on your price if you have enough inventory to sustain yourself through dead season as during busy season when you are maxed out you’ll be regretting giving deals and losing money.

    Good afternoon I have a question. Do you feel the market is over saturated in some areas? If so do you still market that area?

  • @therentalguy

    @therentalguy

    I only know my market. However every business markets to a different level of customer and every business has unique offering that will draw in customers. If the market is over saturated then you can be the best and take the lions share!
