Tips for Electricians Bending Conduit in New Commercial

Installing card reader pullcan and connecting in wall conduits!
Usually when bending conduit as a Journeyman we do things in a repetitive way even without measuring at times, but how do you teach a Green Apprentice who has never worked with conduit?
I tried to explain as much as I could without confusing an apprentice with table charts and equations, starting up you won't remember these things, it takes practice and understanding the basics.
Hope this Helps! ⚡️

been in the field for a couple years now and i want to appreciate the one who take the time to teach you. It was rare working with someone willing to teach you some tips or anything and when i did receive it i learned so much I cant imagine how much i would have learned in a year. Teaching has been my best way of learning and i hope if youre in this field you share some knowledge with the young ones coming in

For kicks I like using the 30 degree trick. Ex. If you need a 7” kick, measure back 14” and bend it until you’re at 30 degrees like an offset and you’ll have your 7” kick saves a lot of time and you don’t have to measure it every time. For small kicks you get to a point where you can eyeball it and get it right

When I was a much younger spark- chaser, an older journeyman I was apprenticed to had a standing rule that I only use a pencil to mark pipe and NEVER a sharpie. We all have our pets peeves.

Yes agree as you can see the sharpie was only use for the cut mark never for the bending spacing.
