USB headphones are a thing too. Jacks are quite bulky, and another hole to try and keep water out of.

PLEASE release a case with an integrated battery. I dont care about the lackluster camera, but the relatively poor battery life has prevented me for years from buying one of your phone's. I'm fine with a bulky case. Heck, maybe give the case wifi charging. I get it, you used an industrial ship that allows you to give the products such a long lifespan, but that comes with a battery life hit consequence. Offer something to offset that.

The industrial chip is just a rebranded Snapdragon 7-series. This has nothing to do with battery life :) The battery life is not good because the battery is relatively small. It is smaller because it has a plastic housing for it to be user replaceable. Just get a second battery or use a power bank.

just get a secondary spare battery, allows you to switch them in less then 10 seconds, now there is even a deal to get a free spare battery

Dark mode is proven to be less straineous on the eyes. It's not just a "feeling" some people have, but a fact that our eyes focus more easily when they're not bombarded with white pixels. With dark mode you also don't have the significant blue light problems that are inherent to black on white, plus it saves a lot of power and has much better contrast

Not really true. The problem with dark-mode is, that your pupils will widen to capture more light, but then the bright white text will hit your retina super hard. Eye doctors don't really recommend it. Black text with white background is way more natural for the eyes.

The whole idea of blue light affecting sleep has also been largely disproven.

@@pdgiddie Or at least, using a screen at all before sleep outweighs any effects of such filters, by far. It's all just marketing to make people use their phone more.

I come from an Samsung galaxy and the automatic enabling of dark mode is just a disaster for my eyes. If you look f.i. to a map you can't see the details you see easily with the normal mode. PLEASE give the user the option the DISable darkmode while energy saving mode. Would be great!

Are you using a different battery technology compared to other devices on the market. The claimed charging cycles are realy high.

I really love Fairphone so much and I need a new phone, but the battery life is really concerning. Have you considered releasing or developing a battery with more capacity in the same body?

@@jonabitstream As far as I'm aware, the Fairphone 5 isn't available from any vendor in the US yet. Maybe you're thinking of the Fairphone 4? As for this video, it's just posted on Fairphone's YT channel. Fairphone is a Dutch company, not a US company. So I'm confused as to why you'd think of this as advertising in the US? 🤷

@@pdgiddie a good point. I assumed so because it’s in English and on KZread. But you’re right, KZread posts foreign language videos as well. Fairphone should have added a disclaimer to this video, warning US customers that the version they can buy will not work with Google at all (except for Maps, strangely). My Fairphone is a 4, the 5 is not yet available here. And I don’t know if, when the 5 is sold here, it will also have the same OS as this 4 does. Another source for confusion and frustration is Fairphone’s terrible access to customer service, only allowing email contact. I’ve been waiting weeks for a reply from them.

@@MNHS16 my phone doesn't work with Google Pay, doesn't connect to my car's bluetooth (HondaLink), Visual Voicemail doesn't work, isn't compatible with Google Chrome, isn't compatible with Xreal glasses. And that's after just the first month! Can't wait for next month's results!

A lot of us don't realise we do this, and women are so used to it they generally don't bother to say anything, but it is a real problem: men talk to women as if they're children all the time, and I think we need to pay attention and be careful to change this.
