Tips and tricks for working with FIMO Leather
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this video I give you a overview to how great FIMO Leather Effect is to work with! It’s important to remember that it is a different style of polymer clay to what most of us are used to working with. It needs a little more work to condition and needs to be rolled super thin to get the most flexibility from it.
FIMO Leather Effect is available from our store www.thelittlecrafthouse.com.au (Australia only sorry) or from your local craft retailer.

Yay! Have fun- so many possibilities!
Thank you, thank you, thank you❣️This tutorial is so much needed right now, I’ve just started make some leather earrings but haven’t been able to get the basic info on starting with Fimo Leather. ( most videos start with already conditioned leather Clay). It is very different fro basic clays….For starters, I would have conditioned it on #2 on my pasta machine. 🙀. What a great video❣️.

I really liked your video! I am new to any of the clay making but I saw the FIMO leather earrings in a video and wanted to try it. Can you tell me how long to bake it? Thank you and have a blessed day!

Very useful information! Thank you! I just have a question, if you want to use it as a cover to a book , could it be rolled thicker and be slightly bending?

Yes! Absolutely! The thicker it is - the less flexibility - but I have seen it used for book covers - so it is possible!
When you bake your FIMO leather mixes (ex: a little bit of FIMO soft with FIMO leather), do you bake at the FIMO leather temp or FIMO soft temp?

Hi! Both the Fimo leather and soft have the same cook temp. But if you are mixing 2 clays with different temps/times- just bake to the instruction of the majority clay. :)
I am trying out Fido leather for the first time. Want to make a cuff bracelet. Can I use two thin layers to make it more substantial?

For sure! That’s an awesome idea!
I have tried three times with fimo leather and every time it has broke when I try to been it. How thin did you roll it? (What number on atlas 150)

As I mention in the beginning of the tutorial- you need to spend a lot of time conditioning by hand and then with an acrylic roller before even attempting to go through a pasta machine. I don’t own an ‘Atlas 150’ so I can’t tell you specifically what settings- but I would always suggest (even with standard polymer clays) to start at the thickest setting and work down.
Can you make beads with it?

Sure can!
Ive been online for hours trying to find if you can or has anyone baked real leather along with oven baked clay, ive tried yahoo google youtube and the only mention of leather is this leather clay. Looks like the producers of this clay could make a quick list of things safe to bake in with or around the clay i found where aluminum foil is safe and common sense tells me gasoline is not but nothing about leather and not gonna chance messin the leather so not sure quit my job and keep Searching
