I had the chance to fly on a DHC-7 of Berjaya Air in 2013, Subang-Tioman. Amazing & stunning approach, will never forget it. Tioman is also a truly beautiful island with pretty nature. Remember having my breakfast on a balcony, while a big monitor lizard was greeting me from below. Wish I can go back there some day. Regards from Germany!

Flew with SKS Airways to Tioman a couple of weeks ago and yeah I was pretty amazed with the landing! I've never experienced a landing like that in my life!

Been there in 1995. The takeoff was exiting, but the turbulence while flying over the dense rain forest towards Kuala Lumpur was truly scary. What a rollercoaster ride that was. Great!

I booked a holiday at Tioman just to get the opportunity to fly the Dash 7 of Berjaya Air from Seletar Airport. I was told these pilots are veterans. It was one of my life's very special moments.

Leider wurde der Tioman Airport (TOD) geschlossen. Es war ein wunderschöner, erlebnisreicher Flug vom Singapur Budget Terminal (SIN) nach Tioman (TOD) und zurück. Tioman ist eine Insel ohne Massentourismus, mit tollen Stränden und viel Natur! Unfortunately the Tioman Airport (TOD) has been closed. It was a wonderful, eventful flight from the Singapore Budget Terminal (SIN) to Tioman (TOD) and back. Tioman is an island without mass tourism, with great beaches and lots of nature!

Flew with Berjaya to Tioman back in 2008 and stayed at the Berjaya Resort. Beautiful island, great people and just a stunning and unique place. Loved experiencing in person the landing here at this unique airport, great skill from the pilots. We are hoping to get back to Tioman with our 2 young kids in the next year or two but not sure if anyone still fly's to Tioman. If possible we will take another flight! I read that SAS and SKS might fly daily to Tioman. I would love if this happened. Safe travels and stay safe Zeenudin. Dave (on Lorna's a/c)

Thank you for your compliments. SAS Air has shut operations to Tioman. Berjaya Air currently only flies to Redang Island. SKS is planning to fly to Tioman soon. If you are planning to fly to Tioman give me heads up. There are some charter operations that can still fly to the islands on adhoc basis. +60176840878

@@lornacarr6087 HI.... there were talks of relocating the airport but the was dropped years ago. I still find Tioman airport very unique and challenging! You stay safe too mate!

I personally know a Cessna 206 that went around. It was inches away from the coconut trees when going around. The decision to land or go around at this airport is made at base before finals at 300 to 400ft.... once on finals you're committed to land. It's very risky to attempt a go around once established on finals. The hills and trees around the airport make it very hazardous.

The decision to land (Committed to land) is usually made before we turn finals. Unless if it's a light aircraft like a PA28 or C172, going around in a Caravan is going to be not advisable. I've done over 200 Landings there, and made the decision for another approach on 2 occasions, and on both occasions I made those decisions before finals.... Nevertheless, Tioman will always be one of the most challenging airfields I've flown to. Loved it everytime.....

Watching this after doing this landing Flight Simulator. Yeah, you have to fly around far to close to the side of the mountain. Warning alerts begging you to be careful all the way.

Tak boleh.Air Asia pakai jet besar. Landasan tak cukup panjang, tak sampai 1KM. Lepastu kat hujung landasan ade bukit. Salah landing memang nahas besar la jawabnya.
