The Tinyhawk II Race is an amazingly fast little quadcopter for FPV Pilots who want to take their Tiny Whoop experience to the next level. It is based on the popular EMAX Tinyhawk drone platform but takes everything to the extreme in terms of speed and performance. It has brushless 7500kv motors, a carbon fiber frame, aggressive AVAN Blur propellers, a Runcam Nano 2 camera, and a variable VTX to name a few of its key features.
In this video we cover all the components and test it in a variety of flight situations!
If you are not quite ready for the power and speed of the Tinyhawk II Race, you can definitely check out other options from EMAX from the links above!

Cool dog. Dogs and drones = living the dream.
Definitely an awesome lil beast! Ordered mine a little while ago. Cant wait to rip it. Excellent review & flights Kelly!!
That thing was way faster than I thought it would be! That little puppy rips!
Hey Kelly, what a fast little drone. I guess this one is out of my league and better start with a tiny II. Thanks for the nice review on all four models, very helpful for the newbies out here. Take Care!
Your video making skills have improved dramatically. Keep it going!
I immediately subscribed! Can't wait to watch more of your videos, so much solid information in just the first one I checked out! I'm just now getting into FPV and only have the Eachine oe13 rtf kit but it's not what I expected. Was looking at the emax freestyle but it sounds way too aggressive. I think after watching a few more of your episodes I'll figure it out!

You should check out GEP RC TinyGo RTF kit. I just reviewed it about 2 weeks ago and it's an excellent RTF kit.
Awesome review! The Tinyhawk series is unbelievable! Got one on the way. Figured I would get it before they sell out. Been flying my TH2 on a Pyro Drone 600mah battery. Getting 4:30 or more on the flight times. Strictly stock. Fantastic quality on all their quads. Thank you for all your hard work. It is greatly appreciated.

I've had my eye on one of those Tinyhawks. They seem like good FPV tiny whoop type quads. Great review Kelly.

They are great. Tinyhawk II Race is definitely more challenging than the ones with 1 battery. But a ton of fun!

@@readysetdrone I'm not ready for the Race model yet, the regular ones seem more like my cup of tea.
Go back and fly the original tiny hawk ,like I did today .makes you really appreciate how far they have came .you cant roll in the air with the original without the chance of air washing to the dirt .but the tiny hawk 2 does it with ease
Thanks Kelly for the info on the new rocket 🚀 looks like fun 🦅🦅👍
Love the way this one looks and flies! I ha e the Tiny 1 & 2s. I'm looking forwars to getting the race some time.
Kelly I enjoyed the review thanks. How did you determine the 50 mph in your description. Did you get a radar speed check or did emax give you the speed. Nice to see some radar times on a lot of these toothpicks. Thanks, John from Chicago

The 50mph was provided by EMAX. I would love to test it myself, but would need a much bigger space!

I wanna know what the difference and weight would be to add that? The turtle version to at least will record 1080P on board And is very light
Thanks for the review! Great video as usual. What external antenna are you running on your X-Lite? I've been looking for one and wondering what you think.

Mine's a T-style - you can get a similar one here: www.rcpapa.com/products/frsky-taranis-x-lite-2-4ghz-transmitter-tx-external-t-antenna
I liked how u went over the batteries cause a lot of people dont realize it takes 2 1s batteries before purchasing. Just got a TH 2 race and im in love with it. Nice review kelly! Do u suggest changing to a xt 30? Any disadvantages with the xt30?
@readysetdrone
2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback. Changing to an XT-30 connection is generally a good idea -- it does add a couple extra grams, but the voltage benefit probably outweighs the extra mass.
If I'd like to get into FPV and mainly fly outdoors, what would you recommend? Tinyhawk 2 Race seems like a better option, but the regular 2 has a RTF kit with transmitter and googles, which costs quite less than getting Race+some transmitter+some googles.

I bought it as my first brushless drone And 6 months later it's still my favorite. I can easily keep up with friends who have 5 inch setups and its almost undetectable, which is more my own taste.
Very nice Kelly I need more time on the EZ Fly before moving up. Loved the slow mo at the end.
@readysetdrone

The EZ Pilot is really fun! And thanks for sticking around for the slow motion - I thought that was pretty cool as well! Thanks Art!
I'm binging your videos. Awesome content! Do you cover sort of the tech in the FPV world anywhere or can you suggest where I might go. I want to understand The components required (getting there - frame, flight controller, motors, props, camera, video transmitter + goggles + controller) But every thing that's not super beginner has dropdowns for options that right now mean very little. Thanks and Yes, I'm joining ... you clearly get this whole thing! :-)

Thanks for joining, Jim! We generally create videos from the flying/user experience perspective, but if you really want to dive deep into FPV components and building your own quads, Joshua Bardwell is the guy we all go to to learn. If you are going straight to digital FPV, and want the satisfaction of building a quad, but without the hassle of soldering, Rotor Riot's kit was quite fun and slightly challenging to put together. kzread.info/dash/bejne/eISuyMWahKSukc4.html If you are a beginner, we suggest getting something small and ducted to practice flying with, before you fly a larger quad, like the Thinking P16 kzread.info/dash/bejne/oX15tKiPh9rHoKQ.html -- if you're flying digital. If you're starting of with an analog setup, the TinyHawk 3 or EZ Pilot Pro will get you in the air and crashing -- I mean flying, in no time! 😜 We appreciate your support. Let us know if you have any questions. We'd be happy to help or refer you to where you can find the answer. Have a great time flying! - Kelly and Kris
Can I change the receiver?
Great review
I order just this tinyhawk plus frsky ,i have non experience,i hope its going to fine
Im thinking of getting this as my first fpv quad freestyle version
Just bought this drone and am looking for a way to protect that flimsy antenna during crashes. It looks very vulnerable if the quad were to land on top of its canopy. Any ideas?
Fun video Kelly, how hard are they to fly without goggles. Thanks for sharing.
that red controller was awesome!!!! which one of those was the one we flew while you were here?
@readysetdrone
4 жыл бұрын
That was the Tinyhawk II (not the race version). kzread.info/dash/bejne/ammJqMyAcpXaqto.html They make a RTF version that you don't need bind, which might be a good place to start!
Nice video 👍
I currently have a dji mavic pro. Planning on a my first fpv drone. Should I get tinyhawk 2 or tinyhawk race? How do you record videos from the goggles? If I get tinyhawk 2, can I use the same controller for tinyhawk 2 and tinyhawk race? Since im a newbie to this i will just get a tinyhawk 2, then if I like it i will be getting the tinyhawk race too. Can I use same controller? Hiw about the goggles? What do you recommend for a newbie? Do the ones sold by Emax any good? Thanks!
Hope the esc s will hold up I have a pile of bad ones
Thank you for your videos! Very insightful. I do have a question regarding flight time; would you say flight time is longer or shorter when compared to the Tinyhawk Freestyle? I've been going back n forward on my ordering. I see the Race 2 is newer and has a better camera, but also better VTX while compared to the Freestyle. What's your thoughts on the VTX improvement. Have you notice any when compared to the Freestyle? (PS: VTX do need to be unlock as is locked to 25 from the factory but range is improved (on paper) to 25, 100, 200 variable). Thank you again for the awesome videos!! I do want to attach (experiment) with the Insta360 Go on these drones. I seen several micro whoop experimenting with it and footage looks great.
Nice toy !! Hello from Mexco !!
Why didn't screw down the propellers on the 2 race?
Seeing is u have the freestyle and the race, which seems faster? I know the freestyle has bigger props but man the race looks pretty quick and agile
@readysetdrone So I noticed that you clipped your antenna with your props and took a piece of it off. My question is did this hurt the range at all? I just acquired one and the antenna had the same prop cut on it.
@readysetdrone
2 жыл бұрын
I'm sure it does affect the range, but with these small drones, I'm not flying very far anyway, so I probably haven't really noticed a difference. If you are able to do a test flight in an open space to check your range, you might also find that you're ok with the cut-off antenna.
Very cool review, thanks! What controller and headset are you using? Looking to get started with FPV.

It's the FRSky X-Lite Controller. amzn.to/38RfRsE Goggles are FatShark dominator HDOs
Hi! Do I need to snort some nerd powder before I can switch it on?
Wonder how long it would last if I hook up two 2S batteries .. before melting
How are you using a Omni on your goggles but the quad has a linear?
If you were to put a bare lightweight gopro on it will the tiny hawk race 2 pro be able to lift it?

You would be able to use the goggles - pretty much all analog FPV goggles are cross compatible. But you would need a new transmitter. I don't think the TX from the Easy Pilot will work with the TinyHawk 2.

@@readysetdrone oh thank you very much, I was looking for beginners menu for fpv dvr drones for example how to bind goggles to drones how to bind new remote control to the drones and no one make video of that, this kind of sport is very hard for beginners without help..
your main front camera for this video is missed focused. It's focused on the fence and background so the drones and you are out of focus :(
@namthainam

I was watching full screen on the computer so it was really noticeable. For other viewers: just make the video smaller and the focus is a lot less distracting and not much of an issue.
What if moved to Cinecan, 85mm whoop frame, for safer indoors?..

Glue some razor blades to those Props leading edge, fly lower ,and Mow your Lawns !!
Too bad they didn’t give it a cinewhoop grade camera to compete with what betafpv and happymodel are offering and I think they should ditch that awful connector and go for a regular xt30 . Never less I’m considering this as a replacement for my original tinyhawk since I already have two mk2s and a freestyle plus my og hawk’s motors are going . Also Id turn the radio on first before the quad otherwise your fingers may be cut to ribbons
So you see all the interference that we see in the video? Sorry I'm new to FPV drones and am doing my researches before buying
