When I was junior high I wanted to be a 62 Brim. Firebug, Stoney etc. Glad I never was. Glad I had options. I’m now married with 3 kids. No arrests.

When he says his son isn't going know nothing about brim, Brim'n and Harvard park he Krazy. Kids watch what they parents do and the people they hang out with. Most LA gang members are born in a gang by family who banged. Unless tiny wrench leaves LA and turn into the dad from boyz in the hood then more than likely he's going be from brim or a crip from the 60s on the strength that's where his parents came from. Salute to the homie

He thinks he has his kids on lock down from the gang life, but he is clearly wrong. He has good intentions to do right by his kids. But, he fails to understand, that despite him not telling his son abt his life as a gang member, his son has his own mind and he will connect the facts: dad hangs out at this park all the time, his friends look like all gang members. And, one day, when he gets older and has to defend himself he may resort to the gang life, too. Reality!

They often go to the same schools. For instance Crenshaw High is dominated by NeigborHood Crips (NHC) mostly 60s and 40s but the school itself is in Van Ness Ganxter Bloods/Brims (VNGB) neighborhood and they don't get along. There are only a few "Blood Schools" out here (Inglewood, Dorsey, Compton Centennial, Freemont).

You gotta be careful up and down Western. It's a bad street. That Food4less on Slauson, which is right down from him, is a dangerous place. So is that Swap Meet right off Western on Slauson. I hate having to go over there and I'm not even a gang member. I don't admire gangs but as a former gang member I can relate to living in such a situation. Gotta leave the place behind. That's the best way. Start fresh and leave the Brims on Six Deuce. Good luck G.

I'm 40 yrs old Black male from St.Louis. 1988 was my freshman year in hs. There was a guy at my hs who moved from Cali who was from this neighborhood. I remember him like it was yesterday he had 62uce Brim on all his folders..we didn't know what the fuck that was. In less than a year he had recruited alot of the tough guys from high school to join. He created a set here in St.Louis off Kingshighway & Rosalie. They called there hood the Red Rose Brims...he spoke highly about Harvard Park

The neighborhood doesn't look that bad to be honest. Nice cars parked down the street. Nice park to play in. But it is the people living there that make it dangerous, or more specifically the young men that make it dangerous. It's too bad, because the place looks nice.

young12ced bloods beefing with each other is very rare compared to the crips gangs that shoot it with each other on the regular. The bsv/pueblos beef isn't as intense as it has been in the past. That Denver lane/Swans beef will fade away.
