They often go to the same schools. For instance Crenshaw High is dominated by NeigborHood Crips (NHC) mostly 60s and 40s but the school itself is in Van Ness Ganxter Bloods/Brims (VNGB) neighborhood and they don't get along. There are only a few "Blood Schools" out here (Inglewood, Dorsey, Compton Centennial, Freemont).

You gotta be careful up and down Western. It's a bad street. That Food4less on Slauson, which is right down from him, is a dangerous place. So is that Swap Meet right off Western on Slauson. I hate having to go over there and I'm not even a gang member. I don't admire gangs but as a former gang member I can relate to living in such a situation. Gotta leave the place behind.
