This is a great little RC vehicle...its small enough (along with the case it comes in) that I can take it with me when I go on business trips and vacations.

I have discovered HIDDEN features on this rig. The channel four button standard function turns on the hazards. But when you double press the button it allows the lights to flash. One setting is a slow flash one setting is a fast Flash and one setting turns the lights completely off. With channel 3 on, double press the channel 4 button and the lights will have different functions!

I find that if you just take the old shock top off and put some lithium grease in it it responds as if they are gas filled/oil filled

Not waterproof. A few minor differences, and electronics.

Where you able to fit those shocks?

that is another differance my blinkers only com on when you go to turn and then the shut off when going straight

Anyone have any issues with the transmission gears on this? They are plastic and two days into to owning mine two gears stripped the teeth. The only replacements I've found are straight from FMS.

Hello, I am trying to get in micro crawlers but I cannot decide between two trucks right now and I need help. It’s down between this KMS/Katana 1/18 Landcruiser or the new Axial SCX24 Gladiator. I really love Toyotas being a real Toyota owner myself but the Axial SCX24 platform has so many pros to it. I know overall the SCX has a way bigger aftermarket than this landcruiser but can someone please answer my question. For This KMS/Rochhobby Landcrusier can you upgrade the steering knuckles to brass ones for added weight? Are there brass diff covers for this landcrusier like there is for SCX24? Honestly those are the two biggest I upgrades I wanted to do immediately to the SCX24 if I got one, but I really cannot find any info if the KMS/ Rochobby has these same aftermarket components.

This doesn't have many upgrades available from what I've found, but there isn't much needed to be upgraded on it, as it comes with full ball bearings, metal gears, and metal axle shafts.

Great video as always! I know cost is probably the main reason but friction shocks are generally awful and I don't understand why so many rtr models still come with them!?

It probably does keep cost down. I like Tamiya’s take on the friction shock with the rubber tub inside that at least offers some return resistance.

Video is nice. 1 week after buying this, servo has gone bad, indicator lights dont work. The head and tail light settings have switched automatically. So i switched the connection on esc to correct it. After 10 days use the plastic spur inside the gearbox has worn out. Definitely not worth it. But since i already bought it could you advise if similar metal spur can be purchased somewhere

Have you had a chance since making the video to try the RC4WD OME shocks? Would love to know if they worked.

I got one bolted on with some hardware extras I had. You’ll need extra pivot balls for the lower links and long screws for the bottoms as well. I need to order the pivot balls to try it.

@@rcdriver The shared shock/link mount really makes it difficult to fit any other brand shocks to these! Curious to see your final setup on the OME. I have some and they are too stiff for SCX24 body weight, but may be just right for this. I have used oil and grease in the HobbyPlus Alum shocks for this. Both were massive improvements, but after a run or two they need re-doing (no seals).

I ran some leds to mine and made a box to store a small lipo in, hooked up on and off switch to it, and strapped the box the the rack. Makes it kinda top heavy though.

Id love to maybe start playing with RC after building 1/24 - 1/25 scale model cars and trucks. Would this be slighty higher in price for a starter? After building model cars, putting them together, customizing them. All of the RC cars/trucks under 200$ look super bland with no windows, interior, basic door handles. Doesnt quite capture the look of "driving" a mini vehichle especially with capturing in video snd pictures. I guess that is why I 100% am leaning towards this RC Vehichle because of the details and functionality. Definately agree on upgrading the suspension right away

I’ve dumped like 100 dollars into my SCX24 should I keep working on it or get this?

Both! I have both, this one, there is not really any bolt-on aftermarket for it. You have to get creative to mod it. Where-as the SCX24, the market is massive. Both are incredibly fun.

I bought separate parts but they do not fitI bought front and rear 4 link suspension and the sizes and atatchments are differant!!

The ESC is totaly differant along with the transmitter

They may have left it that bouncy on purpose, the 80 series itself is a very bouncy can and you can practically use it as a trampoline if you really want to

It's kinda pricey , but look very cool 🔥.The Wpl C54 is a great alternative for the great looking hardbody of the LC80.

I received mine a couple days ago. It's terrible for the price. Cheaply built, instructions are half-ass, battery does not fit in the compartment very well. It's worth maybe $30 at Target. Not hobby quality.

I bought two, 1 for myself and 1 for my son… Do not buy this rc it broke on the first day, yes you can get parts but it will continue to break in many different ways…my son is extremely disappointed.. do not waste your money!!!

I bought one for my son last Christmas he got about two days use out of it then nothing I have left it in for repair with no luck this truck is a piece of junk I will never buy Rodhobby again.
