    To be honest I love the flow of Jons games. Rahdo is riddled with analise-paralize syndrom which is very tidious to watch. I avoid Rahdo at all costs and watch all playthroughs of Jon.

    I love the fact the we even have the choice 🙂. I like Jons presentation, clean and crisp and his explanations for his opinions on games often help me decide if something is for me or not. But I also love Rahdos enthusiasm and I enjoy watching his thought process quite a bit. so it’s the best of both worlds for me. Thank you to Jon and Rahdo for their hard work!

    @Sandra Basel Exactly. Rahdo’s gameplay is more enthusiastic, Jon has a more informative and organized feel and, adding one more on, Knights Around a Table(don’t remember his name)is more comedic and is kind of a balance between the two. I like switching between these channels because of different presentation methods and different games that are showcased.

    37 points! My best game of Tiny Towns by far. Got down two trading posts in the middle of my board early and then hit 3 Cloisters in the corners, a granary surrounded by 3 cottages, two theaters worth 5 points each and two taverns. The double trading posts really helped and I got very lucky with the resources. Very fun game. Thanks for the video.

    Thanks Jon. It was fun to play along as I've only been able to play this game solo otherwise. My score was 33. I too built the monument right off the bat, but no understanding fully how the Trading Post worked (thinking it would be removed once its wild ability was used), I instead placed the Granary in an ideal location. My Theater did ok. Cloisters in 3 corners, 2 Taverns, and 2 Wells, both next to one cottage. I got lucky in that only two spaces remained empty in the end, the best endgame in that respect to date. :)

    Just did the play-along! I got 39; I got the Grand Mausoleum of the Rodina monument which meant my unfed cottages were worth 3 points regardless. It meant I could ignore the granary (which is one of the hardest food buildings to manage), so all I ended up building was my monument; cloisters; cottages; and wells. Ended with two blank spaces!

    I have watched a few playthroughs of this game and am looking forward to getting it to my "impossible to find games for game group of 6"! One question though: is the use of the cube cards optional? I don't see anyone else mention or use them. Trying to figure out how you came about this play style as I appreciate it contributing to the true randomness of the game rather than the hammer just being passed around the table and picking what that person needs on their turn.

  • @JonGetsGames

    @JonGetsGames

    5 жыл бұрын

    The cube cards are an optional variant, the main way to play is just having each player decide a cube for everyone and then passing the hammer on. I have played this way at 6p a few times and it works very well.

    I know the trading post counts as a wild resource for building. Basically the building acts as any resource you want it to be for building. My question is, is it based on where the building actually is on the board. So the square that the trading post is on has to be part of what you are trying to build, or does the effect work anywhere on the board?

  • @JonGetsGames

    @JonGetsGames

    5 жыл бұрын

    It indeed is based on the specific location where the trading post is in relation to the pattern of the new building you are trying to construct.

    Around the 32 minutes mark, if I were the green player, I would have played the stone so that the turn after I could have chosen a brick and finish a fifth cloister. Now, this 5th cloister would not be in a corner, but it would still be a 4 points building. I don't own the game and therefore I am not sure if this is allowed, but I do not see any reason why not. This would leave the center of the board still very open for the green player.

  • @Ogrecrusher

    @Ogrecrusher

    5 жыл бұрын

    I was wondering about that too, it just says 4 points for each Cloister that's in a corner, doesn't say they have to be in one. Wouldn't surprise me if that's clarified in the rules though.

  • @JonGetsGames

    @JonGetsGames

    This game looks so fun but I don't like the player elimination element. On average how long do players have to wait for other players after they pass?

  • @JonGetsGames

    @JonGetsGames

    5 жыл бұрын

    It's quite low, in my experience the longest anyone has had to wait is ~5 minutes. To me it doesn't even feel like player elimination since by the time people start passing the game is usually just about over for everyone.

    I followed along using dry-erase boards and your monument card. I got 26 ... using the beginner "cavern" rules of ignoring 2 resource draws. Without that I'm at 17 -_- Should have gone for the cloisters. Btw. is there any reason neither you nor green tried for a 5th cloister? That would be another 4 points, wouldn't it?
