You are such a power house! I am so amazed at what you have accomplished. You are an awesome woman. I 😅 love watching your dance and so happy for you. My daughter was going to Spain and while she was planning her trip; I told her that I would like to be able to visit PORTUGAL! She asked me why. Without thinking, I said that I have "friends" there! I really feel close to all the people (videos) that I watch religiously and will not miss an episode. I am a 77 year old female and so impressed with what you and others create and the hard work you put into creating.

When you hang tiles, be careful not to get the glue too thick, as it will dry out too quickly. The best is to distribute a thin layer on both the wall and the backside of the tiles, as it gives you a little more adjustment, as well as a stronger attachment. Spray a little water on the wall and the tiles before putting the glue on, also for it not to dry up too quickly. Finally, you attach the whole tiles first, and then in the end you cut and attach the smaller pieces. That gives you a lot less measurements to do. The grout must also be nice and soft to work with, in order to get it into all little crannies, and prevent small air holes when it dries up. Especially if you're tiling a bathroom, you leave all the corners, tops and bottoms without grout, and put silicone in them instead. This will give the walls some flexibility and prevent cracks... Good luck... 😊

When you are cutting tile or pouring dry cement products to mix, you should wear a dust mask to protect your lungs. The damage this dust does is cumulative and does not go away. It can be worse than smoking tobacco long term.

Were the original builders Basque? I have seen that the row houses with shared walls are common in a lot of Basque architecture. The property is beautiful and your renovation can be called inspirational. You and the countryside seem to share a spirit. The water dances as freely as you. I am in the United States, and your corner of the world seems to be beautiful, rugged, and tranquil... much like yourself.

I would like to suggest moving it out of the corner of the room so it can circulate air more effectively 👍 Are you considering salvaging and repurposing as many concrete balusters and newel posts as possible? It looks wonderful! Love the tile choice. For a small space, it is incredible. A question. The walk and the boxed area of the mountain stream. How far is that area from your water wheel tank? If high enough, a line from that small stream would be a wonderful supply for the water wheel. I'm guessing the stream flows more vigorously during the winter...When a constant supplement to the solar panels would be most needed. I love seeing small scale hydro power. It seldom produces tons of electricity but it is a round the clock supply. That tiny trickle of electric power can reap nice rewards during cloudy, rainy weather. Thanks for all the time you're putting into your content.

Maya, I reeeeaally hope you reconsider putting a kitchen in your room. It’s not fun, sleeping where you eat. Your bedding all starts to smell like food, and any unwashed dishes or anything easily attracts bugs. Simple living is great, but if you have the space to have the kitchen in a different room, you might save yourself from some regret in the long run.

I lived in a 3x4m double lofted sleep out with my son and dog while our tiny house was being built. It had a very basic kitchenette and our clothes and bedding never smelled of food as we aired the space out daily. We make compromises to make things work while we continue to keep our eye on the main goal. Maya has planned her build well knowing that the tiny space will eventually help to bring in an extra stream of income in the future.

Very impressive and hard work! Well done to you. I have just started moving my life to Portugal, with a small olive oil farm and 3 houses (only one livable) so understand the challenges well; but your energy and practical ‘get on with it’ attitude is refreshing and inspires me, and I am sure many, many others. Let me know when you’re done and you can come and help me 😂😂.
